Introducing Butter London's Lippy

Butter London has recently expanded their beauty arsenal by adding Lippy to their highly coveted line. Matching up with their new nail polish shades, Lippy ($17) is available in 5 tantalizing lip gloss shades - Primrose Hill Picnic, Snog, Trout Pout, Yummy Mummy, and Teddy Girl.

Lippy does not contain parabens, petroleum, phthalates, sulphates, or bismuth. It is currently available on Butter London's web-site, their Seattle-Tacoma International Airport flagship store, fashion boutiques, specialty retailers, and beauty apothecaries around the world.

I'm ultimately picky when it comes to choosing lip gloss shades. I carefully selected the shades that I knew that would look good on me. Therefore, I selected the Teddy Girl (a pale, retro, bubblegum pink), Yummy Mummy (a medium beige), and Primrose Hill Picnic (a happy, punchy, tropical, fuchsia pink). All of the shades compliment my skin tone, especially the Teddy Girl and Yummy Mummy. I also received the matching nail polishes, which I will be reviewing sometime soon.

Most lip glosses either have a decadent flavor/scent or no scent at all, but theirs have a floral scent, which I love! I also love that they have strong staying power. The only thing I don't love is that their lip gloss is one of the stickiest glosses I've come across so far. I hope that they reformulate their product, making it less stickier and more wearable. These shades are simply too gorgeous to be this sticky!

LAVANILA The Healthy Deodorant Review

Breaking beauty boundaries with the world's premier healthy fragrance, LAVANILA was the first to fuse luxury fragrance with natural science. Today, their growing line of healthy products continues to brim with everything that's good for you and absolutely nothing that's not. LAVANILA delivers a new generation of 100% healthy products formulated with the highest quality of natural and organic ingredients. They're packed with vitamins and minerals, and completely free of harsh chemicals. Indulge with confidence.

I've been using natural deodorants for the last two years. This is due to the potential dangers of aluminum found in traditional deodorants. Many doctors are linking aluminum to a myriad of diseases such as ALS (a.k.a. Motor-Neuro Disorder or Lou Gehrig's Disease), Parkinson's Disease, Alzheimers, and Cancer. After having a health scare of my own a couple years ago, I decided to be more "green" with my beauty and hygiene routine. I'll admit that I'm not all the way "green" with my beauty products, but I'm making much better progress. I'm also learning a lot as I go along.

I already have two brands that I swear by when it comes to all-natural deodorant. Therefore, I was slightly reluctant to use another brand when I was introduced to the LAVANILA's Healthy Deodorant ($18). I've tried a couple of products by them in the past, and I really liked them. So, I decided to give them a chance with this product.

I received the LAVANILA The Healthy Deodorant in the Vanilla Passion Fruit scent (also available in Vanilla Coconut, Vanilla Grapefruit, Vanilla Lavender, and Pure Vanilla). I actually have their perfume in the same scent, but the deodorant surprisingly smells much better! It has a strong yet delightful fresh, feminine, and floral smell. The fragrance doesn't last long, but the most important thing is that it actually works.

It's rather pricier than what I usually order, but this doesn't faze me since it keeps me from sweating in this hot, sweltering heat that we've been experiencing lately!

Hunger Games-Inspired Hair

With the much-anticipated movie premiere around the corner, Nicholas Penna Jr., owner and lead stylist at Salon Capri sent us Hunger Games-inspired hair tips. Nick can give instructions on how to make these looks wearable and recreate the styles at home.

While their haughty attitudes make Capitol citizens in The Hunger Games less than likable, the characters’ bold hairstyles are hard to miss. Big and colorful embellished ‘dos worn by people of The Capitol are contrasted by the simple and sporty styles common in other districts.

Capitol Citizens’ Embellished Frizz

· To make this bold look more wearable, Nick recommends playing off of a single element of the style such as frizz, color or embellishment.

· Adding a colorful flower or bow to your hair style gives your look a fun pop of color. Use bobby pins to secure a natural flower or colorful bow to one side of your head above your ear and arrange hair around it to hide the pins.

· To incorporate temporary pastel tints into your ‘do, Nick recommends running the tip of a piece of soft chalk across the strands you want to color. The more coats you use, the brighter the color will become. It’s important to only use chalks on dry hair, as wet hair will cause chalk to stain lighter hair’s natural pigment. Nick suggests clipping colored locks across the front of your head and securing them with a headband for a look straight from the movie.

· Big hair accessories and pastel hues can be overkill when paired with bold jewelry. When sporting colored or embellished locks, Nick recommends keeping the look clean with subtle jewelry and accessories.

· To score a subtler version of Effie’s frizz, first add a texture spray to dry locks and set your hair in pin curls. Nick recommends Shu Uemura’s Liquid Fabric Mineral for added volume and texture. Once the curls have formed, lightly tease your hair from the crown to the back of the head using hairspray and a natural bristle brush. Nick recommends Shu Uemura Sheer Lacquer.

Katness’ Sporty Side Braid

· Katness’ battle look is a sporty variation on the classic French braid.

· To score this style, add a texture spray to dry hair. Nick suggests Shu Uemura’s Liquid Fabric Mineral.

· Gather the front section of hair above your ear and begin with the typical French braid stitch.

· As you continue your braid, guide hair in a diagonal line across the back of your head by collecting strands from each side as you go.

· Once you reach the nape of your neck, finish the look with a common braid and secure the ends with a clear elastic.

· Set the knotted style with a light spritz of hairspray. Nick’s go-to for a soft hold is Shu Uemura’s Sheer Laquer.

· For a sexy, messy look, let angled pieces fall softly around your face.

Haymitch’s Piecey Center Part

· Men can achieve Haymitch’s soft center part and piecey blonde waves with the help of the right styling products.

· Start with wet hair, and part it directly in the center using a fine toothed comb.

· To add texture, apply a dime-sized portion of styling wax to the lower half of your strands. Nick recommends L’Oreal Professionnel Homme Wax for piecey waves.

· If your hair is straight or wavy, let it dry naturally and finish with a spritz of texture spray. Nick uses Shu Uemura’s Liquid Fabric Mineral.

· If your locks are a little more unruly, blow dry the hair using a natural bristle brush and the blow dryer’s nozzle attachment, and finish with smoothing serum. Nick recommends a small drop of Shu Uemura’s Silk Mesh.

Lady Soma Antioxidant Berry Masque Review

Lady Soma is an all natural, healthy and holistic source of women's probiotic supplements and skincare, which are all specially formulated to fit women's needs. Their skin care line includes the Renewal Serum, the Antioxidant Berry Masque, and the Skin & Nail Treatment. Their supplements include the Lady Soma Detox, the Lady Soma Fiber Cleanse with Probiotics, the Candida Advanced Cleanse, and the Cranberry Concentrate with Vitamin C.

The Antioxidant Berry Masque ($32.99) is a delightful concoction of blueberry, cranberry, and pomegranate. Not only this facial masque is loaded with antioxidants, but it has essentials vitamins such as Vitamins A, C, and E. All band together to enhance cellular renewal and collagen production.

It is usually not recommended to use a facial masque but once or twice a week. However, I've been using this masque every other day. It doesn't give information on the web-site or container to let me know otherwise. So, I feel like it's safe for anyone to use more than once a week, unless they start experiencing problems with their skin. It's not like any other masque I've tried, because I usually couldn't get away with using one a few times a week without provoking a breakout in the process. Don't get me wrong, I've tried a few wonderful ones in the past, but I believe that this is the best one I've used in the past year.

Applying a facial masque can be a very simple beauty routine if you're not too familiar with using one. I simply keep this facial masque on my face and neck area for 8 - 10 minutes. It gives me a bit of a good, tingly feeling. However, it is very tolerable since it doesn't sting or burn in the least. Then, I wash it off with warm water, which doesn't take much effort at all since it washes off easily. The results are fantastic, because my face has a warm and healthy glow after I use this product.

I follow up with their Renewal Serum, which I'll probably run out of soon since I only received a small sample. This is only because they wanted me to focus on the Antioxidant Berry Masque. It's quite tempting to buy their full size serum, though. This product is really good, because it makes the skin feel really soft and smooth. It is normally $42.99 on their web-site, but you can currently buy it for $32.24.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
