Tria Skin Clarifying System Review

TRIA Beauty offers the very best in light-based skincare products. Discover more about the TRIA Laser — the first and only FDA-cleared at-home laser hair removal device that delivers permanent results. And the TRIA Skin Clarifying System, clinically proven to clear acne breakouts and blemishes faster than any other leading acne treatment available in stores, online or even from a doctor.

Their mission is to harness the most innovative procedures offered by dermatologists and bring them into your home for personal use. TRIA Beauty devices are FDA-cleared, simple to use and deliver expert results you can clearly see, at a fraction of the cost of in-office treatments.

I've been using the Tria Acne Treatment System ($225) for a few months now and honestly haven't had much trouble with my skin, except for a pimple here and there once in awhile. I just haven't had any embarrassing breakouts that keeps me confined in the house for a few days! Therefore, I can live with a pimple here and there. Nothing a good concealer can't do, right?

I've used a similar acne gadget and I didn't like it at all. In fact, the other product made my skin worse! So, I was a bit leery about using this at first, because I thought I'd have a similar experience, which I did not. Thank goodness!

This system is easy to use. It comes with a Clarifying Foam Cleanser and Rebuilding Complex to use before using the system, which will help you get the best results. This will help improve your skin, prevent future breakouts, and ensure maximum blue light effectiveness. While the system itself, I don't feel an annoying and slightly painful zap like I did with the other product. Just a slightly warm sensation that is both relaxing and therapeutic in some strange way. It can be a bit tricky at times to glide the system on my face effortlessly, but it works nonetheless. Also, each system comes with a cartridge that has 300 minutes on it. Additional cartridges are $40 - $65. While I'll have to agree that the system is a bit on the pricey side, I highly recommend it if you have some troublesome acne that you wish will make a quick disappearing act. It will be 2011 before you know it. So, let healthy and beautiful skin be your New Year's Resolution!

Over the years, they've acquired more than 500 patents, and their products have been recognized for award-winning design and technology.

· Waterpik SinuSense™ Squeeze Bottle ($14.99 at Drugstore.com) - allows you to customize the amount of water flow for a complete cleanse, simply with an easy squeeze. The SoftSeal™ nozzle maximizes comfort and the One-Way FlowControl™ valve prevents backflow to maintain solution purity.

· Waterpik SinuSense™ Neti Bottle ($14.99 at Drugstore.com) - a unique approach to the traditional neti pot; its ergonomic shape, SoftSeal™ nozzle and One-Touch FlowControl™ valve make the Neti Bottle easy to hold, comfortable against your nose and creates a controlled gravity-fed water flow that provides a gentle sinus cleansing.

My Thoughts: I've experienced sinus problems long as I can remember. No matter what the season is or what the weather is like, I've often looked for a relief to help me deal with them. That was until I discovered the neti pot awhile back, which has brought me a huge relief. Therefore, I was happy to receive the Waterpik SinuSense™ Neti Bottle and Waterpik SinuSense™ Squeeze Bottle to try out and review. I've made it clear that I've used a neti pot before, and these are no different. Some people swear by using these everyday, but I prefer to use it every few days, because I've discovered that the saline (that you mix in the water) dries out my nose if used everyday. Also, I prefer using the Waterpik SinuSense™ Neti Bottle since it seems to be easier to use. Reasonably priced, you should try these out if you haven't jumped on board yet. Your sinuses will thank you!

Cosmopolitan Magazine, Maybelline New York, and the USO to Collect Kisses for the Troops on 11/11

Cosmopolitan Magazine is partnering with Maybelline New York and the United Service Organizations (USO) for the second year in a row to collect and deliver “Kisses for the Troops.” On Thursday, November 11th (Veterans Day) Cosmopolitan will build a Kiss Station on Military Island and invite the public to give a kiss on a postcard for a cause – our troops - which will ultimately be delivered to those serving in Iraq and Afghanistan just in time for New Year’s Eve. Cosmopolitan and Maybelline New York will donate one dollar for each kiss collected to the USO.

Malin Akerman, actress and star of Couples Retreat, 27 Dresses, The Romantics, Watchmen, The Proposal, Harold & Kumar and more will join Cosmopolitan and the USO in Times Square to help collect kisses for the servicemen and women.

“The outpouring of love for our troops overseas last year was overwhelming,” says Donna Kalajian Lagani, publisher, Cosmopolitan. “We’re excited to ask our Cosmopolitan readers to pucker up for the second year to help Maybelline and the USO collect even more kisses for troops.”

“We are very excited to be partnering with Cosmo again on this great initiative to give back to military service members,” says Brian Whiting, President and CEO, USO Metropolitan of New York. “These ‘love notes’ of encouragement may seem like a small gesture but they’re actually a huge moral booster for troops stationed far from home.”

Maybelline New York will be providing various shades of Color Sensational lipstick in the Kiss Station to create the lip prints.

"Maybelline New York is honored to be partnering with Cosmopolitan Magazine and the USO for the second year in a row for the Kiss the Troops event,” says David Greenberg, President of Maybelline New York Garnier. “Maybelline New York and our Color Sensational Lipcolor is happy to do what we can to brighten the day of our troops overseas.”

Consumers who can’t make it to the event can still be a part of the mission by “kissing” a postcard virtually via a digital application. Consumers can log on to http://www.cosmopolitan.com/kisses or Cosmo’s Facebook page, upload a photo of themselves and write a note of thanks. Their “kiss” will also count towards the USO donation and be sent to the troops.

To further the mission, consumers can show their support for the USO via a TEXT2GIVE program element. By texting “KISS” to 85944 consumers will be able to donate $10 to the USO to support the incredible work they do for our troops and their families.

Thomas Dunkin Styles Actress Rachel McAdams for Morning Glory Premiere

The stars of the new romantic comedy “Morning Glory” came together on Sunday, November 7th at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City to celebrate the movie’s premiere. Leading lady, Rachel McAdams, looked stunning and sultry on the red carpet with tousled, textured hair styled by Sebastian Professional Stylist Design Team Member Thomas Dunkin. After collaborating with the makeup artist and wardrobe stylist on Rachel’s final look, Thomas chose to craft a sexy, voluminous coif with a punch of rock star glam as an unexpected and unpredictable anecdote to the star’s gray strapless dress.

To achieve this sexy rocker chic ‘do, Thomas shares a step-by-step how-to for the A-list actress’ style:

Saturate freshly washed hair with Sebastian Professional Volupt Spray for heat protection and touchably soft volume.

2. Rough dry with hands and blow-dryer lifting random sections while twisting hair in different directions until very nearly dry.

3. Place hair in very large Velcro rollers in a brickwork pattern for maximum root lift. Complete drying with a diffuser then allow the rollers to cool and set.

Remove rollers and apply a sparse amount of Sebastian Professional Matte Putty through the ends of the hair. Apply another blast of heat with the hair dryer to work up the hair’s texture by massaging the roots with finger tips.

5. Part the hair low so that a big section of fringe sits asymmetric and falls sensually over one eye. To exaggerate the style and build up the shape, set the style with Sebastian Professional Re-Shaper by spraying into the stream of hot air from the hair dryer.

Apply Sebastian Professional Matte Putty again loosening the look with your hands and defining the sections that give a disheveled but modern edge to the final look.

Glamour Women of the Year Awards - L'Oreal Paris Limited Edition Nail Polish

In honor of the twentieth anniversary of Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards, L’Oréal Paris and Glamour have teamed up for the first time to create an exclusive, limited edition nail polish shade called Glamour Woman of the Year. For four consecutive years, Glamour has raised money for extraordinary philanthropic organizations through the Glamour Women of the Year Fund initiative; this year the initiative supports the humanitarian efforts of Dr. Hawa Abdi of Somalia. Three dollars of every bottle sold will go to support her efforts. This inaugural philanthropic product enables women everywhere to give back and show their support for a woman who is making our world a better place. Dr. Abdi, a 63-year-old ob-gyn, and her two doctor daughters provide food and care on her family’s land outside Mogadishu to approximately 90,000 Somalis displaced by that country’s violence. Glamour and L’Oréal Paris are honored to celebrate Dr. Abdi and her humanitarian work this year.

“The Glamour Women of the Year Fund is something I am incredibly proud of,” says Cindi Leive, editor-in-chief of Glamour magazine, “and we are thrilled to be partnering with L’Oréal Paris for this effort. L’Oréal Paris’ limited edition Woman of the Year nail polish offers our readers a fun and fashionable way to support the good works of women around the world.”

The Glamour Woman of the Year nail polish is available exclusively on shopglamour.com. The limited edition polish will retail for $6.50, with nearly half of the purchase price going to benefit the philanthropic efforts of Dr. Abdi. To learn more about Dr. Abdi’s inspiring story, visit glamour.com/woty or dhaf.org.

“We are proud to partner with Glamour to celebrate the Woman of the Year Fund honoree, Dr. Hawa Abdi,” said L’Oréal Paris President Karen Fondu. “Dr. Hawa Abdi has made unprecedented contributions to helping women in need of urgent medical care. We’ve created the limited edition L’Oréal Paris Glamour Woman of the Year nail polish to raise awareness around her efforts and encourage women everywhere to make beautiful differences in their communities. Dr. Abdi is truly inspiring, and we applaud her courage and commitment to making our world a better place.”

Behind-the-Scenes Hairstyling Tips from Dancing with the Stars

This week was the 200th episode spectacular on Dancing with the Stars, which meant the couples had to re-enact previous season’s winning performances from former contestants. Former contestant Kelly Osbourne made a special appearance to help with voting while sporting a hairstyle reminiscent of her days on the show.

Here are some quick tips on how to re-create the following looks:

To achieve Kelly Osbourne’s 50’s era ponytail:

Brush hair into a ponytail at the crown of head and then attach the “Dancing with the Stars” Flirtini ($39: ulta.com) for impressing swing and volume!

To achieve Jennifer Grey’s sleek chignon:

After parting hair off to the side, sweep it into a bun and simply attach the “Dancing with the Stars” Glamarama ($20: ulta.com) which features a soft full bun attached to a clip-in comb ensuring that this look will stay in place while you dance the night away.
