Review:
I received the Gi'ovane Italy Organic Anti Aging Set ($120), which includes: Gi'ovane Italy 1oz Firming Serum, 4oz Clarifying Toner, 2oz Foaming Cleanser, .5oz Eye Makeup Remover and .5oz Firming Eye Cream. I love everything that I was able to try. I'm putting emphasis on the word able, because I still can't get the toner to open! I even tried to have a few people try opening it without any luck. However, I will keep you updated once I finally do. ~lol~

Eye Makeup Remover - This eye remover is very effective at removing eye make-up without causing an irritation. You can put a small amount on a cotton ball or q-tip - whatever you prefer! You do have to wipe off the excess that is left since it is made with Organic Argan Oil and Organic Sesame Oil. It is a bit small, but a little goes a long way. At $4.99, this is a beauty must have!

Firming Eye Cream - A good eye cream is a must have skincare product for me. I don't think any woman should go without a good eye cream in her beauty arsenal. This eye cream can feel a little greasy, but I found it to be more effective for me when I use a very, very small amount. Therefore, the moisture absorbs more quickly. It is ideal for puffiness, dark circles and fine lines.

Foaming Cleanser - This cleanser gives my face a squeaky clean feeling. Not only it is good for foaming away impurities, but it does a terrific job at gently dissolving make-up. It is a must have for problematic skin!

Gi'ovane Italy Firming Serum & Moisturizer - Like the eye cream, I have to use a very small amount of this as well since it is super rich in moisture. This was actually the first time I ever used anything with Argan Oil in it, and I can see why it is a favorite! It is ideal for all skin types, especially for skin woes such as blemishes, rosacea and pigmentation problems. I'm very happy to report that my complexion is really clear right now.

Now, if I can get that toner to open....

You can get these products separately, but buying the set saves you 20% off the total retail value if purchased separate.

America Ferrera Wears Lancôme

Celebrity makeup artist Vanessa Scali created the look for America Ferrera at the Kids' Choice Awards on Saturday night. We've got the scoop, straight from Vanessa, on how to re-create America's glamorous look.

First, before applying any makeup, Vanessa prepped the skin with Lancôme Genifique, a youth activating concentrate that improves tone, texture and luminosity giving the skin a natural glow. To create a flawless complexion, Vanessa used both Lancôme Effacernes concealer and Armani Lasting Silk UV SPF 20 Foundation. She used Armani Fluid Sheer #2 as a highlighter and applied it with her finger to the cheekbone and brow bone. This gave the complexion a bit of added shimmer. Lancôme Color Design Cream Blush in Pret a Plum was applied to the apples of the cheeks for just a pop of color. Shu Uemura Cream Eye Shadow in Beige was lightly dusted on the eyelid and Lancôme Artliner in Noir was applied to the upper lash line. Several coats of Lancôme Ôscillation mascara were applied to the lashes for added length and volume. To compliment America's pinky/coral frock, Lancôme La Laque Fever gloss in Cyber Coral and Techno Brick were mixed together to create a high-shine pout.

Review: LaRocca Skincare

The Golden Details About LaRocca Skincare: Throughout history, all natural 24K gold has been regarded as an ancient remedy. Its presence in the body is believed to enliven, revive and cure a multitude of diseases as well as restore youth and perfect health.

Founder Laura DeLuisa LaRocca was introduced to the wonder of gold when she suffered total kidney failure and believed this mineral played a role in her recovery. "I wanted to make the benefits of gold widely accessible in the form of technology-driven, results oriented skincare without compromising the environment," says LaRocca about the birth of LaRocca Skincare. This line consists of four biodegradable formulas, all in 100% recyclable packaging and made it's debut in Fall 2008.

Review: I received the entire line to review, which includes the: C-Gold ($150), 24K Gold Cleanser Exfoliant ($75), 24K Gold Eye Cream ($150) and 24K Gold Face Moisture ($125).

24K Gold Cleanser Exfoliant - This cleanser is gentle exfoliation at it's best. It contains natural fossilized hard shell algae that will remove old dead skin cells, unclog pores, and reduce acne breakouts. It has a hint of citrus scent, which I love! My face feels so smooth and super clean after using this cleanser. It also adds vitality and freshness to my skin. This cleanser is gentle enough to use day and night.

Ingredients: Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-6, Orange Peel Oil, Fulvic Acid, Aloe, Chamomile Extract and Green Tea Extract

24K Gold Eye Cream - While I don't have any issues with puffiness, I do get the appearance of dark circles once in awhile. I've noticed that this eye cream has helped out a lot with that little problem. I've also noticed that my eye area is really smooth since I started using this. However, there is one minor issue with me - it burns. The burning sensation goes away within a few minutes though. I let my mom try it herself to see if she would experience the same thing, but she didn't have the same reaction. Otherwise, this eye cream is fantastic and does exactly what it is aimed to do!

Ingredients: Squalene, Witch Hazel, Chamomile Extract, Green Tea Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Vitamins C & E, Dipeptide02, Indian Gooseberry Fruit Extract, Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-6 and Fulvic Acid

24K Gold Face Moisture - This moisturizer is utterly weightless and absorbs quickly. Even though I don't have any wrinkles or fine lines, this moisturizer does a fantastic job of hydrating the skin without making it overdone or greasy. My face feels luxuriously soft. Even though I'm prone to getting breakouts from moisturizers once in awhile, I haven't experienced any when using this moisturizer.

Ingredients:
Hexapeptide-6, Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-6, Squalene, Apricot Kernel Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate, Jojoba Seed Oil and Fulvic Acid

C-Gold - I quickly follow up with this product after using the 24K Gold Face Moisture. Like the moisturizer, it makes my face feel very soft. It also gives my face a shimmering hint of gold. The bottle is a bit small, but a little truly does go a long way with this product! You can use the C-Gold as a primer for smooth application with makeup or simply use it by itself.

Ingredients: Cyclopentasiloxane and 15% Vitamin C

LaRocca Skincare products do not contain parabens, PABA, mineral oil, phthlates, paraffin, DEA, TEA, synthetic fragrances or animal products. They have even signed PETA's statement of assurance.

LaRocca Skincare is donating 3% of all profits to The National Kidney Foundation.

Head Games

To help us out, Head & Shoulders went straight to the woman behind celebrities like Luke Wilson, Jason Schwartzman, James Marsden, Seth Rogan, Judd Apatow and Jonah Hill before they walk down the red carpet, Cheri Keating. We picked Cheri’s brain on how we can use her tips and trick on the men in our lives, and she has some helpful advice for us for getting them ‘back in the game.’

For men to take care of their hair, it’s important to start by taking care of their scalp. Here are some simple scalp and hair care tips from Head & Shoulders Grooming Expert, Cheri Keating to help you get your head in the game.

The Foundation

· Massage the scalp deeply but gently prior to shampooing. Massaging stimulates the blood vessels encouraging a healthy scalp and hair. Then use a gentle shampoo and conditioner system such as Head & Shoulders Classic Clean.

· Never scrub the scalp, it can cause irritation and damage, effecting scalp and hair health.

· In between haircuts, be sure to keep a groomed appearance by trimming unwanted hair on the neck and around the sideburns with trimmers and a pair of small round tipped scissors.

· Consider investing in a natural wooden brush with wooden pins. Brushing hair often with a natural tool, promotes hair and scalp health. Plus, every time you brush your hair you're giving yourself a scalp massage!

The Looks

· The natural textured look is in style this year. The less blow drying, combing and brushing the better. Use matte wax or pomade. Warm a small amount in the palm, working it through barely dry hair. Pull it through the ends of the hair, combing with your fingers from the back of the crown toward the front.

· For an edgy look to hair, after adding wax, move small sections of the hair in different directions keeping the primary movement forward.

· For a side-swept look, again using the fingers as a comb to retain the natural texture of your hair, sweep across the forehead to one side and lightly smooth with a finishing cream.

· For finer hair, use a spray wax to add texture and lift. Lifting sections of hair with the fingers, spray a small amount into the hair, allow to “set” for a minute and then style lightly with the fingers.

Taking care of your scalp and hair is just as important as picking out the right shirt. So get your head in the game by using a system of shampoo and conditioner by Head & Shoulders.

Review: Bare Escentuals Buxom Babes Flower Girls

Experience the full benefits and immediate pout-plumping effects of Bare Escentuals ever-popular Buxom Lip Polish with this collection of four floral inspired sheer, wearable shades. Bare Escentuals Buxom Babes Flower Girls ($28) convenient portable size is ideal for quick touch-ups for on the go and makes a great gift for any woman who wants voluptuous lips day and night.

I had the wonderful opportunity to try out the Bare Escentuals Buxom Babes Flower Girls. I really like the Rosie (petal pink), Lily (pink lavender) and Poppy (carnation pink) since I'm very fond of pinkish shades when it comes to lip gloss. The only shade I do not like is the Lily, which they describe as a cool lavender. However, it looks freakishly white on my lips. The cool and tingly effect takes a little for me to get used to. Otherwise, I highly recommend their lip gloss. I love the high shine finish and the fact that this lip gloss is preservative & paraben-free.

This lip gloss is also formulated with crushed minerals to protect and energize lips, and a collagen boosting complex to increase moisture and add volume, lips will experience an immediate increase in fullness upon application. It is also formulated with Vitamins A and E to help keep your lips soft, smooth and healthy throughout the day.

Review: Coco-Zen

Review: I had the delectable opportunity to try out Coco-Zen's Chocolate Lips-To-Go ($10.50). This has to be one of my favorite lip products! This delicious duo does a great job at keeping my lips exfoliated and hydrated. Plus, both products smell really good! This duo somewhat reminds me of the Bath & Body Work's Liplicious I've used in the past, but I like this one much better since it isn't as messy and the brown sugar is mixed with chocolate - yummy!

You can order this lip duo in other "chocolaty" flavors: Chocolate Cappuccino, Chocolate Dipped Strawberries, Chocolate Chai Spice,
Chocolate Covered Coconut, Chocolate Mint Bliss or Chocolate Orange Blossom.

Also, check out their Chocolate Shop for a vast selection of truffles if you have sweeter cravings.

Review: Further Soap

Review: I just got done sampling the Further Hand Soap ($18.50), and I have to say that this has to be the best hand soap I have ever used! It has a very pleasant smell since it is blended with essential oils of bergamot, olive, and exotic grasses. The glycerin in this soap is derived from making biofuel. Marshall, one of the owners picks up used vegetable oil from some of the finest restaurants in LA, then processes it in his garage. The biofuel goes into his car and the glycerin goes into their soap. Talk about eco-fabulous!

TRIA Laser Hair Removal System Giveaway

One lucky winner will have a chance to win a TRIA Laser Hair Removal System (a $795 value).

Answer the following question: What award did the TRIA System receive? Please don't post answers anywhere online.

Post about it on the comment widget along with name and email address on the comment widget above
instead of replying to the post (less hassle that way). All of your information will be hidden. You can enter this contest once.

The TRIA System was developed by the team of scientists that invented the professional technology, the TRIA System is the first safe, FDA-cleared laser hair removal device available for home use. The
TRIA Laser Hair Removal System is an easy, safe and effective way for suitable candidates to obtain clinically proven laser hair reduction in the privacy, comfort, and convenience of their home. The system delivers lasting results, eliminating the need for endless shaving, painful waxing and inconvenient appointments. It leaves skin looking beautiful and sleek, as if the hair was never there!

The TRIA laser works on the principles of selective photothermolysis: beams of laser energy are absorbed by the dark pigment in hair and converted into heat which disables the hair follicle, preventing it from growing new hair. This process is most effective on hairs during the growth stage (anagen phase). Since most hairs cycle through the anagen (active), catagen (transitional) and telogen (resting) phases over a six month period, one treatment a month for 6-8 months is required to achieve complete results.

The TRIA Laser Hair Removal System is available at Nordstrom, leading aesthetic physicians' offices, Bergdorf Goodman, The Studio at Fred Segal, Bliss World, select spas and TRIA Beauty.

Based on national averages, a woman can expect to spend between $3,000 to $10,000 to remove unwanted hair from underarms, bikini line and legs over a 10 year period by using various methods.

The average physician's fee for a series of 3-8 laser treatments can range between $1,050 and $2,800 for each body area. The TRIA Laser Hair Removal System is priced at $795.

IMPORTANT: If your skin is medium brown, dark brown or your hair color is light brown; light, medium or dark blond; red or gray, at this time the TRIA System is not right for you. Lastly, regardless of skin tone, DO NOT use the TRIA System if you are African American, East Indian, Native American or Pacific Islander as skin damage may occur. Because TRIA's laser is activated by darker shades of melanin (color) levels in the hair, lighter hair colors such as light brown; light, medium, or dark blond; red or gray will not absorb enough of the laser's energy to disable the hair follicle.

Currently, the TRIA Laser Hair Removal System is not cleared for use on the face, head, ears or neck, but TRIA Beauty is hard at work for additional research to safely treat these areas - backed by FDA clearance, of course.

Review: Tilvee Raspberry Hydrating Toner

Meet Kristie McNamara: Kristie, Tilvee founder, received her degree in Botany and Organic Chemistry in 1997 from Michigan State University. She worked in a local natural market during and after college which linked her education and fascination with plants, their uses in the formulation of and niche for natural and organic skin care. She began formulating and opened the skin care company Body Botanicals in 2000 which has been sold nationwide. In the past few years, Kristie's extensive research into the benefits of antioxidants in skin care planted a seed. She began formulating new products that were in line with this vision which became Tilvee eco-ethical skin care company. With Tilvee she has created a socially and environmentally responsible company that offers luxurious, safe, innovative organic products. Kristie is also passionate about green business practices, consumer education and being involved in the community of eco conscious individuals and businesses.

Review: I received the Tilvee Raspberry Hydrating Toner ($15.99) for my review. This toner is formulated to protect healthy cells and restore luster. Essential Fatty Acids from Red Raspberry Seed Oil hydrate and restore elasticity. Their Citrus essential oil blend leaves your skin feeling fresh and revitalized.

I've been using this toner after I've cleansed my face and before applying facial products such as creams and serums. Like most of the organic products I've been sampling lately, it comes in a beautiful cobalt blue glass bottle. It is true to scent, because it smells strongly of raspberry. The raspberry smell disappears quickly after I spritz it on my face a few times though. So you don't have to worry about smelling like raspberries. Most importantly, this is a fantastic toner and it is ideal for all skin types. They also have a Cranberry Clarifying Toner ($15.99) that is ideal for Normal to Oily Skin.

I wouldn't mind trying out other products from this line:
Acai Pomegranate Rejuvenating Masque ($23.99), Botanical Rejuvenating Oil ($23.99) and Tea Tree Facial Cleansing Bar ($8.99).

Review: Dr. Miracles

Let their doctor Let Dr. Miracle's help you conquer thinning hair and breakage with its Temple& Nape Gro Balm and Anti-Breakage Strengthening Cream. This hard-hitting duo treats hair loss at the scalp, targeting new growth to promote strong healthy strands. The signature Dr. Miracle's "Feel it" formula even let's you know its working; leaving you to tend to the coo's of your newborn.

Review: I let my mom try out the Dr. Miracle's Temple & Nape Gro Balm ($7.99) since this product was a bit too heavy for my hair. My mom was a bit leery of this product at first, but she noticed that her hair has got much thicker within a month. This balm targets the temple and nape areas where hair is easily broken off or damaged. Infused with vitamins, the balm soothes and invigorates the growth of the hair by ending breakage and split ends by penetrating the scalp.

Review: I was able to use the Dr. Miracle's Anti-Breakage Strengthening Cream ($7.99) without any problems. This product isn't heavy on my hair at all. I started really using it after I got my hair trimmed a few weeks ago. I'm very pleased with this product! It has been keeping the breakage at bay. I'll admit that I was a bit scared of trying out this product from the Dr. Miracles brand, because I had heard so many bad reviews. I must say what works for one person might not work for another person.

This cream stimulates the follicle, promoting strong, shiny, healthy growing hair. This featherlight cream moisturizes and conditions, healing damage accrued by stress, traction, heat or chemical styling, and overstretching strands with weaving or braiding styles.

Review:
I love just about anything lime, and this body butter is far from being a disappointment! The Farfalla Fresh Lime Body Butter is rich and creamy. I like to use body butter on my legs since they usually get the driest. The scent is light, yet very pleasant and sweet. It is also very moisturizing and absorbs quickly without leaving any kind of greasy feeling. This body butter is regularly $25, but you can get it on sale for $12.50 at Beautorium, my favorite eco-friendly online retailer.

Also available in other scent worthy scents:
Frangipani and Ambra.

Review: April Rain Skin Science

April Zangl is the fresh face and founder of April Rain Skin Science. Working closely with Night Rainew’s guiding dermatologist and scientific formulators, April has created and launched Night Rainew, the most luxurious anti-aging night cream on the market. April’s professional experience as a health and wellness expert and her enthusiasm to help others live a healthy life inspired her to create the April Rain Skin Science line. Just as April sought to understand how a certain exercise would condition her body, she wanted to know how skin care ingredients affected skin. It is April’s belief in promoting beauty both inside and out that has driven April through her life and in business. Over time she became a skin ingredient expert and progressively wondered why companies didn’t create healthier, more advanced, multifaceted products to make life easier, results faster and more apparent. This led April to create the April Rain Skin Science collection with HydroPeptide, the only line that positively drenches your skin with fresh science.

If your skin is thirsty, the Night Rainew with HydroPeptide ultra-hydrating, age-defying, night repair creme will provide more, long-lasting moisture while you sleep with 21 hydrating elements that keep skin healthy and younger looking. Night Rainew nourishes starving skin with HydroPeptide, found exclusively in April Rain Skin Science products, an age-defying breakthrough that lifts away fine lines and wrinkles, and 100% organic, antioxidant-enriched Buddleja and Echinacea extracts which promotes stronger more age-resistant skin.

The Night Rainew ($129) is dermatologist tested, allergy tested. non-irritating, paraben and phthalate free. It's for all skin types and not tested on animals.

April Rain Skin Science launched this luxury night cream early this year. This cream is formulated for night use; appropriate for day use. Of course, I had to try it. I did exactly like the directions said. Every night, after cleansing and toning my face, I smoothed the Night Rainew over my entire face and neck with upward massaging motions, being careful to avoid the eyelids and lips. I think it promotes healthier and youthful looking skin. It reduces fine lines and facial wrinkles by giving a smoothing effect. One can skip the expensive and painful injections and treat yourself to April Rain Skin Science today! After using Night Rainew, I highly recommend it to anyone. Once you use it, you'll want to keep using it.

Molly Sims 'Dials' Up Her Fashion Profile for a Berry Good Cause

Yesterday, actress and model Molly Sims debut a one-of-a-kind dress featuring thousands of real cranberries created by top designer Kevan Hall and inspired by Dial’s Antioxidant Cranberry Body Wash. Molly had worn the dress at Kevan’s show yesterday at LA Fashion Week.

Starting today, March 20th, the dress will be auctioned off on Clothes Off Our Back benefiting The Children’s Institute, an organization enabling children to maximize their learning potential and to effectively utilize social skills in a positive manner.

About the Dress:

· The dress has over 2,000 real cranberries from neckline to hem

· Six food stylists worked for 96 hours to prepare the cranberries for use

· Starting with raw, barely ripe cranberries (to ensure they retained their bright color and to avoid wrinkling), the food stylists hand-pierced each cranberry with a needle to release its moisture. Using a commercial-grade dehydrator, they then dried the berries at a temperature of 100ºF for 15 hours

· A team of 15 people worked on the dress from design through completion, including a pattern maker, cutter, beader, dress maker and the designer himself

·On the finished dress, the cranberries resemble beads more than actual cranberries

Review and Giveaway: Florere Deodorant

5 winners will receive Vegan Deodorant Stick by Florere ® Original Stick Formula ($9.99).

Question: Name one store that carries Florere.

Post about it on the comment widget along with name and email address on the comment widget above
instead of replying to the post (less hassle that way). All of your information will be hidden. You can enter this contest once a day.

Review:
Cynthia created Florere after a friend's mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. The experience helped her become more aware of the products that she was eating and using on her body. She believes that we should view the items that we put on our skin much the same as the food that we put on our plates. Florere is 100% vegan. They have been approved by PETA and CCIC for no animal testing.

The company is called Florere (pronounced 'flow-rare') - it's a latin verb which means 'to bloom or flourish, like a flower.' She chose this name to utilize essential extracts of flowers and only natural ingredients in all of their products.

I had the opportunity to try out the Deodorant Stick by Florere ® Original Stick Formula ($9.99) and Deodorant Cream by Florere ®
Original Cream Formula ($8.50). Both products are non-metallic, free from parabens, free from aluminum salts and irritating chemicals. They're also ideal for all skin types and could be used by men or women. Even though both products are the same, I prefer the stick form. However, I enjoy using both! After hearing so much bad about traditional deodorants, I stopped using them about a couple months ago. The Florere deodorant has become one of my favorites. I like that you can apply it like a traditional deodorant without much fuss. I also like that it goes on clear - it doesn't leave any kind of residue behind. The smell is also very pleasant. I'm honestly not sure if too many guys would like the floral fragrance, but that is just my opinion. Since I'm a female that embraces her femininity, I appreciate the floral smell!

The giveaway will conclude April 2nd.

Review and Giveaway: She Essential Beauty Washing Grains

One person will receive Washing Grains ($30) from She Essential Beauty.

Question:
What other product would you love to try out from She Essential Beauty?

Post about it on the comment widget along with name and email address on the comment widget above
instead of replying to the post (less hassle that way). All of your information will be hidden. You can enter this contest once a day.

Who is She?: Shē Essential Beauty was founded by Laura Kauffmann and Beth Hooper, licensed acupuncturists and Chinese herbalists. Wanting more from a skincare line, Laura and Beth decided to create a brand centered around the concept of beauty from within, mirroring the holistic approach they offer in their Chinese medical practices.

The Chinese character Shē means luxury, a quality we embrace with each unique recipe. Their products are paraben free and made without synthetic ingredients, and our formulations harness the healing power of Chinese herbs while maintaining a luxurious smell and touch that triggers a sense of well-being.

Both Laura and Beth hold Master's Degrees in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and maintain their private practices in New York City.

I tried out their Washing Grains ($30). This product has a blend of flowers and oatmeal combined with Chinese pearl and jasmine tea to clean and tighten pores while gently detoxifying the skin. I love the smell of their washing grains - so relaxing! It reminds of a floral mask I tried out in the past. I found this product suitable for my sensitive skin. It wasn't harsh at all and it will give your skin a nice glow. I've been tempted to use it as a facial mask, but I'm not sure how well that would go. It is a bit pricey for the size, but I highly recommend it if you have sensitive skin!

The giveaway will conclude March 31st.

Winner must respond within 72 hours of notification.

I received the Ultra Moisturizing Shave Cream ($4.49). Their formulation reminds a lot of Whish with it's really creamy texture. Unlike Whish, this cream doesn't clog the razor and this product helps give an extremely smooth and moisturizing shave. There is no need to apply lotion since this cream moisturizing enough. Plus, it is much more budget friendly. The only thing that I don't like is the scent. The cucumber melon scent is sickeningly sweet. Otherwise, it is a really great product to use! I'll probably try out the Vanilla Bliss or Lavender Jasmine next time. This cream is also available in Island Blue, Fragrance Free and Pomegranate Raspberry.

You can buy eos at the eos online store or search for retailers that sell this product.

Review: Clear Clinical

About Clear Clinical: After treating thousands of patients and not finding an ideal treatment available, Dr. Lisa Kellett developed the Clear Clinical Acne Treatment Program to treat her own acne. The Clear Clinical Acne Treatment Program is the first skincare program created specifically to treat adult acne with anti-aging formulations.

Review: While this product hasn't zapped every blemish in sight, I noticed that small breakouts have been kept to the minimal.
This product has 5.0% benzoyl peroxide. Benzoyl peroxide usually causes irritation, especially with sensitive skin. Even though I have sensitive skin, I haven't experienced any problems so far, but I'm not going to be able to speak for everyone. I'm not very fond of the woodsy scent, but it is very tolerable for me. The only thing I don't agree with is with the $75 price tag. Otherwise, I give it a high recommendation!

Review: Belegenza

Belegenza is the one and only silicone-free, mineral oil-free, petrolatum-free, paraben-free, SLS-free, phthalate-free, & urea-free product line designed for the high-end salon and clientele. They have developed a patent-pending formula that actually penetrates deep into the hair shaft as opposed to coating the hair with chemicals. The conditioning and cleansing agents are a unique combination of the fruits of the earth and sea and the labor of the silk worm to provide condition, shine and performance never before possible.

Not only has Belegenza discovered a way to make each of the benefits synergistic in their effects—but has done so without the conventional chemical culprits! Free of silicone, petrolatum, mineral oil, phthalates, SLS (sulfates), and parabens! Belegenza is committed to creating and upgrading all our formulas to meet the rigid requirements set by the CEO Alan G Eschenburg at all times!

After hearing a few friends rave about their products, I wanted to see what the hype was about with Belegenza. I tried out the Simply Straight Progressive Straightener ($23.99) and SpotLite Shine S500 ($18.99).

My hair is a bit thick and naturally wavy, which I have no problem with at all. However, I like to wear my hair straight from time and time. They claim that this product will permanently straighten your hair and tame the frizzies the more you use it. While it hasn't put my beloved GHD out of commission, I've noticed that I don't have to fuss with my hair as much with the flat iron. You can leave it in your hair for 3 hours for dramatic straightening. However, I've been using a small amount for gentle straightening. It has a creamy-like texture and it has a light purple tint - my favorite color! I also really like the smell. It is quite fragrant

The SpotLite Shine S500 is another fantastic product from this line. It can be used for many things, even a cuticle conditioner for nails! I use it on my ends to prevent breakage and so far it has been doing a well done job! It is good for all hair types, especially thinning hair. It can also be used on wet or dry hair.

Review:
I'm not only a lip gloss fanatic, but I'm an exfoliation fanatic as well! So I chose the Bourbon Geranium Whipped Sugar Scrub ($16) to review. I wanted to try out floral type scrub this time instead of going for something with a gourmand scent. The smell is beautiful, fragrant and relaxing. It smells a bit like roses. It is beautifully whipped with pure sugar cane crystals, organic shea butter, organic coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil and Bourbon Geranium essential oil. Not only this scrub pampers your skin to perfect, but Bourbon Geranium is known to help relieve stress, PMS, and menopausal symptoms. You can't find too many scrubs that can do that.

Other scrubs you might want to try: Vanilla/Lime Whipped Sugar Scrub (comforting and refreshing), Bergamot/Ylang Ylang Whipped Sugar Scrub (exhilarating and inspirational) and Lavandin/Litsea Cubeba Whipped Sugar Scrub (a mood enhancer and relaxing).

Review: Yes To Tomatoes

Review: I had the wonderful opportunity to try out the Tender Touch Hand Cream from the new Yes To Carrots line, Yes To Tomatoes. This hand cream is nothing like the Yes To Carrots hand cream I tried out in the past. I did not like the Yes To Carrots hand cream at all, because it was ultra thick and greasy. This was definitely not my ideal hand cream and made it's way to the trash after using it a few times. You know it is that bad when I hate to waste. However, the Yes To Tomatoes hand cream is very light and absorbs quickly without a hint of any kind of greasiness. This is perfect for me. It also has a clean, pleasant scent. It doesn't smell like vegetables at all. So you don't have to worry about your hands smelling like tomatoes! If your hands are extremely dry, you might want to try something thicker, like the Yes To Carrots hand cream much as I cringe to say!

I'm definitely going to venture more into the Yes To Tomatoes line since I have combination skin. This is what this new line is ideal for - oily to combination skin. The other products that are included in this line are: Facial Mask and Facial Mask.

I also tried out the C Me Smile Lip Butter ($2.77 at Drugstore.com). I highly recommend this lip butter if you have super dry lips. It works great and it smells really good! It is ultra rich and glides on smoothly. It is not greasy or waxy like most lip balms I've used in the past.

Review: I received the Night Health Bedtime Spray ($25) and
Night Health Bedtime Bath Oil ($28.50). Believe it or not, this is my first time trying out anything from Origins. Weird as it may sound, it is true!

I enjoy using both products, because they're so relaxing. They haven't been helping me doze off into a blissful slumber, but that is just me. I can't speak for everyone. I love the Night Health Bedtime Bath Oil much as I love the Dr. Hauschka Skin Care Lavender Bath Oil ($29.95). They both even smell alike. The Origins smell like lavender more than anything. Like Dr. Hauschka, this bath oil is pure luxury without the hefty price tag. I've been guilty of using it as a body oil as well, because it is that good! I wouldn't mind trying out the other products in the Night Health Collection - Bedtime Face Cream ($55) and Bedtime Balm ($25).

Review: Cactus & Ivy

About Cactus & Ivy: Cactus & Ivy was formed from 10 years of ideas, dreams and discoveries. They do not test their products on animals. Just family members (and beauty bloggers) since this what we're here for after all. As of 2008, they became completely vegan by removing animal by products from their ingredient list. They no longer use honey or beeswax. Candelilla Wax has replaced the use of beeswax in all their balms, and beside being “Cruelty Free”, Candelilla Wax protects against moisture.

Review: I received the Butter Me Up Body Balm in Orange Vanilla ($14.25) and the Peppermint Tree Foot Balm ($12).

As a lover of citrus scents, I fell in love with the Butter Me Up Body Balm. It is the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. It also rich in moisture. With this body balm, there is no need to re-apply. It has the perfect combination of combination of soothing oils and cocoa butter. I prefer body balms over lotion any day, because most of the time you don't have to re-apply over and over again like you'd with lotion. They also recommend using this body balm for after shave use or to soothe sun burned skin. This is also ideal for dry and itchy skin, especially on the knees and elbows. If you don't think the Orange Vanilla is for you, this body balm is also available in other nose worthy scents: Ylang Ylang, Lavender, Vanilla and Key Lime Vanilla. They also have an Unscented version.

I'll admit that I hate the smell of tea tree oil. However, I do know that it has many good uses. Therefore, I love it for the many things it is good for. The smell is a bit overpowering with the Peppermint Tree Foot Balm. It is something I got used to though. Like the body balm, it is rich in moisture. It is also very soothing. I definitely have to add this foot balm to my list of favorite foot products. And the price? Not bad all!

Review: DSH Perfumes

About DSH Perfumes: DSH Perfumes is the online world of Perfumer and Aromatherapist, Dawn Spencer Hurwitz, and all that her studio and imagination have to offer.

Here you will find all of Dawn’s many, highly-sought-after, and sometimes hard-to-find fragrances. You will also find offerings from her studio's extensive range of essential oils, aromatic essences, and perfume notes. Your visit is certain to inspire the creator in you.

Review: With so many choices, I had a hard time settling down to one fragrance I wanted to try from DSH Perfumes for my review. Choices, choices, choices! I finally settled for their Madonna Lily ($39.50 - $126) due to the description and the beautiful name. I don't claim to be a perfume snob, but I can be a bit picky. Luckily, I was not disappointed at all with my choice. With harmonious floral notes, the Madonna Lily perfume is the perfect spring scent. It is a bit strong when I first spritz it on. However, the strong smell fades away quickly. Not only it smells good, but the smell lingers throughout the day without having the need to spritz again. This indicates that Dawn uses the finest ingredients in her fragrances. My mom is much pickier than I am and she was very impressed with the Madonna Lily. She said that it reminded her of something she used in the past. Since I like this particular fragrance so much, I wouldn't mind buying from this independent perfumer in the future.

Top Notes: Bulgarian Rose Absolute, French Linden Blossom (accord), Orange Flower Absolute - France

Middle Notes: Mandarin, Neroli, Roman Chamomile

Base Notes:
Bulgarian Rose Otto, Sandalwood

Review: Baby Quasar

Baby Quasar ($449) is a safe and painless light therapy. It is the solution to a superfluity of common skin care problems that many women face: effects of sun damage, age spots, acne, rosacea, eczema and psoriasis. Light therapy has many other benefits such as helping relieve sinus problems, treat depression and helps with muscle & tendon pain.

The Baby Quasar is a portable device that has 24 LED's - a miniature version of professional models used at the derm's office. I was surprised about how lightweight and easy it was to use! With timed signaled intervals, you don't have to worry about overdoing it. They do recommend 28 minutes of usage for 3 times a week to achieve (and maintain) results. The light is slightly warm, but not painful at all. The only thing I was a bit apprehensive about using this device was that I thought it would hurt my eyes. I'm not fond of bright lights at all! I got used to this after awhile though.

Before using the Baby Quasar, they recommend cleansing your face and using their Baby Quasar Pure Silk Daily Anti-Aging Hyaluronic Formula ($60). However, you can use any serum that can easily absorb the laser light. Since I didn't have their formula on hand, I used the En Pointe Precision A Serum ($75).

After you cleanse and apply the serum, you start with the low setting (orange) or the high setting (red) pulse mode. Start on one side (neck, lower cheek, and lips) and placing the head directly on the skin.

Move the wand slowly over the skin, making sure all areas get the light treatment for a full 2 minutes. Move up the cheek to the next area, upper cheek and around the eye. Then after 2 minutes, move to the forehead on one side. Then perform the same treatment on the other side of the face. Give it another go at high pulse (red) after the first light therapy session is complete. You can also use the Baby Quasar on your hands, arms, anywhere that needs improvement in appearance.

I don't have any fine lines, but I have noticed a lot of improvement in other ways. It has made my face a lot smoother and my pores are a no show! It was with instantaneous results with the first session. I wasn't expecting this at all since I do know most skin care products ~and~ beauty tools take awhile to work. They recommend the Baby Quasar Baby Blue ($349) for acne, but this one has also helped out with a few blemishes. I received the Baby Quasar a few months ago and used it faithfully for a couple of weeks (6 sessions) and then slacked off after that due to my busy schedule. However, I'm back in the game!

The Baby Quasar is a fantastic multitasker that I highly recommend. It might be on the pricey side, but it is an investment that is well worth the price for what it does! Still in doubt? It comes with a 5 year warranty. You can also get the Baby Quasar Power Pack for $599 - what a deal!

Review: Sea Chi Organics

About Sea Chi Organics:
Sea Chi Organics manufactures high quality Organic and Wild crafted skin and hair care products. They are widely used by practitioners in the Holistic Healing Arts and ideal for individuals who are Consciously choosing to live a Healthy Organic Lifestyle.

Sea Chi Organics are free of toxic chemical preservatives and synthetic fragrances. They use only the finest spirit-infused raw materials that Mother Earth has to offer.

Review: I had a chance to try out several of the Sea Chi products. This includes the Sea Chi Organics Re-Hydrating Facial Serum ($69), Sea Chi Creme ($59) that I reviewed a couple weeks ago, Calendula Creme Facial Cleanser ($30) and Rose Water & Kombuchi Firming Facial Toner ($48).

I'm completely enamored with the toner! This toner is very versatile. Not only it makes my face feel firm, but it helps soothe and balance my sensitive skin. This would be ideal for dry skin since it will give your skin a natural burst of hydration. They assure you that this toner is the real deal. It is made with 100% certifified organic Bulgarian Rosewater from the Valley of Roses in Bulgaria. It is also blended with their own Kombuchi Tea. They highly recommend using the Rose Water & Kombuchi Firming Facial Toner after cleansing your face with the Rose Geranium Face & Body Wash ($24.50 - $75.50). Since I don't have this particular product, I use the Calendula Creme Facial Cleanser ($30). Sometimes I use the LaRocca 24K Gold Cleanser Exfoliant ($75) instead. I also follow up with the Sea Chi Creme ($59) and the Sea Chi Organics Re-Hydrating Facial Serum.

Their Calendula Creme Facial Cleanser is ideal for 40+ skin. Well, I'm far from being 40! Even though this cleanser is super rich in moisture, it works beautifully when it comes to removing make-up. You can also use this cleanser as a facial mask for deep penetration, which probably wouldn't be a great idea for me since I'm prone to breakouts.

The Sea Chi Organics Re-Hydrating Facial Serum reminds me a lot of the Duchess Marden Damascena Anti-Wrinkle Serum ($58) that I reviewed recently. Like Duchess Marden, I consider it more of a facial oil than a serum. It also doesn't break me out, which is always a good thing! I usually apply it around my eyes to maintain a youthful look. You can also apply it on your neck or by your mouth - anywhere to achieve ~or~ maintain a youthful look! Their "serum" is blended with Organic Golden Jojoba Seed Oil, Oilve Squalane & Sea Buckthorne Berry Extract.

Review: I had the opportunity to try out the Body Cream ($57.95) from their Sicilian Orange & Mandarin collection. While this winter wasn't the harshest, this winter has been the worst for my skin. This body cream is ideal for all skin types, especially dry skin.
