Review: I received the Gi'ovane Italy Organic Anti Aging Set ($120), which includes: Gi'ovane Italy 1oz Firming Serum, 4oz Clarifying Toner, 2oz Foaming Cleanser, .5oz Eye Makeup Remover and .5oz Firming Eye Cream. I love everything that I was able to try. I'm putting emphasis on the word able, because I still can't get the toner to open! I even tried to have a few people try opening it without any luck. However, I will keep you updated once I finally do. ~lol~

Eye Makeup Remover - This eye remover is very effective at removing eye make-up without causing an irritation. You can put a small amount on a cotton ball or q-tip - whatever you prefer! You do have to wipe off the excess that is left since it is made with Organic Argan Oil and Organic Sesame Oil. It is a bit small, but a little goes a long way. At $4.99, this is a beauty must have!

Firming Eye Cream - A good eye cream is a must have skincare product for me. I don't think any woman should go without a good eye cream in her beauty arsenal. This eye cream can feel a little greasy, but I found it to be more effective for me when I use a very, very small amount. Therefore, the moisture absorbs more quickly. It is ideal for puffiness, dark circles and fine lines.

Foaming Cleanser - This cleanser gives my face a squeaky clean feeling. Not only it is good for foaming away impurities, but it does a terrific job at gently dissolving make-up. It is a must have for problematic skin!

Gi'ovane Italy Firming Serum & Moisturizer - Like the eye cream, I have to use a very small amount of this as well since it is super rich in moisture. This was actually the first time I ever used anything with Argan Oil in it, and I can see why it is a favorite! It is ideal for all skin types, especially for skin woes such as blemishes, rosacea and pigmentation problems. I'm very happy to report that my complexion is really clear right now.

Now, if I can get that toner to open....

24K Gold Cleanser Exfoliant - This cleanser is gentle exfoliation at it's best. It contains natural fossilized hard shell algae that will remove old dead skin cells, unclog pores, and reduce acne breakouts. It has a hint of citrus scent, which I love! My face feels so smooth and super clean after using this cleanser. It also adds vitality and freshness to my skin. This cleanser is gentle enough to use day and night.

Ingredients: Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-6, Orange Peel Oil, Fulvic Acid, Aloe, Chamomile Extract and Green Tea Extract

24K Gold Eye Cream - While I don't have any issues with puffiness, I do get the appearance of dark circles once in awhile. I've noticed that this eye cream has helped out a lot with that little problem. I've also noticed that my eye area is really smooth since I started using this. However, there is one minor issue with me - it burns. The burning sensation goes away within a few minutes though. I let my mom try it herself to see if she would experience the same thing, but she didn't have the same reaction. Otherwise, this eye cream is fantastic and does exactly what it is aimed to do!

Ingredients: Squalene, Witch Hazel, Chamomile Extract, Green Tea Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Vitamins C & E, Dipeptide02, Indian Gooseberry Fruit Extract, Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-6 and Fulvic Acid

24K Gold Face Moisture - This moisturizer is utterly weightless and absorbs quickly. Even though I don't have any wrinkles or fine lines, this moisturizer does a fantastic job of hydrating the skin without making it overdone or greasy. My face feels luxuriously soft. Even though I'm prone to getting breakouts from moisturizers once in awhile, I haven't experienced any when using this moisturizer.


Ingredients: Hexapeptide-6, Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-6, Squalene, Apricot Kernel Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate, Jojoba Seed Oil and Fulvic Acid

C-Gold - I quickly follow up with this product after using the 24K Gold Face Moisture. Like the moisturizer, it makes my face feel very soft. It also gives my face a shimmering hint of gold. The bottle is a bit small, but a little truly does go a long way with this product! You can use the C-Gold as a primer for smooth application with makeup or simply use it by itself.

Ingredients: Cyclopentasiloxane and 15% Vitamin C

We picked Cheri’s brain on how we can use her tips and trick on the men in our lives, and she has some helpful advice for us for getting them ‘back in the game.’



For men to take care of their hair, it’s important to start by taking care of their scalp. Here are some simple scalp and hair care tips from Head & Shoulders Grooming Expert, Cheri Keating to help you get your head in the game.

The Foundation

· Massage the scalp deeply but gently prior to shampooing. Massaging stimulates the blood vessels encouraging a healthy scalp and hair. Then use a gentle shampoo and conditioner system such as Head & Shoulders Classic Clean.

· Never scrub the scalp, it can cause irritation and damage, effecting scalp and hair health.

· In between haircuts, be sure to keep a groomed appearance by trimming unwanted hair on the neck and around the sideburns with trimmers and a pair of small round tipped scissors.

· Consider investing in a natural wooden brush with wooden pins. Brushing hair often with a natural tool, promotes hair and scalp health. Plus, every time you brush your hair you're giving yourself a scalp massage!

· The natural textured look is in style this year. The less blow drying, combing and brushing the better. Use matte wax or pomade. Warm a small amount in the palm, working it through barely dry hair. Pull it through the ends of the hair, combing with your fingers from the back of the crown toward the front.

· For an edgy look to hair, after adding wax, move small sections of the hair in different directions keeping the primary movement forward.

· For a side-swept look, again using the fingers as a comb to retain the natural texture of your hair, sweep across the forehead to one side and lightly smooth with a finishing cream.

· For finer hair, use a spray wax to add texture and lift. Lifting sections of hair with the fingers, spray a small amount into the hair, allow to “set” for a minute and then style lightly with the fingers.

Taking care of your scalp and hair is just as important as picking out the right shirt. So get your head in the game by using a system of shampoo and conditioner by Head & Shoulders.

Review: I had the delectable opportunity to try out Coco-Zen's Chocolate Lips-To-Go ($10.50). This has to be one of my favorite lip products! This delicious duo does a great job at keeping my lips exfoliated and hydrated. Plus, both products smell really good! This duo somewhat reminds me of the Bath & Body Work's Liplicious I've used in the past, but I like this one much better since it isn't as messy and the brown sugar is mixed with chocolate - yummy!

Review: Further Soap

Review: I just got done sampling the Further Hand Soap ($18.50), and I have to say that this has to be the best hand soap I have ever used! It has a very pleasant smell since it is blended with essential oils of bergamot, olive, and exotic grasses. The glycerin in this soap is derived from making biofuel. Marshall, one of the owners picks up used vegetable oil from some of the finest restaurants in LA, then processes it in his garage. The biofuel goes into his car and the glycerin goes into their soap. Talk about eco-fabulous!

They're also ideal for all skin types and could be used by men or women. Even though both products are the same, I prefer the stick form. However, I enjoy using both! After hearing so much bad about traditional deodorants, I stopped using them about a couple months ago. The Florere deodorant has become one of my favorites. I like that you can apply it like a traditional deodorant without much fuss. I also like that it goes on clear - it doesn't leave any kind of residue behind. The smell is also very pleasant. I'm honestly not sure if too many guys would like the floral fragrance, but that is just my opinion. Since I'm a female that embraces her femininity, I appreciate the floral smell!

I love the smell of their washing grains - so relaxing! It reminds of a floral mask I tried out in the past. I found this product suitable for my sensitive skin. It wasn't harsh at all and it will give your skin a nice glow. I've been tempted to use it as a facial mask, but I'm not sure how well that would go. It is a bit pricey for the size, but I highly recommend it if you have sensitive skin!

Review: eos

 Everything about eos – from their ingredients to the why-didn't-anyone-think-of-this-before packaging to the irresistible feel and scent of their lotions and creams and balms – is created to be pretty remarkable and remarkably pretty.

eos fits a woman's sense of style and also lets her have fun in the process of getting more beautiful.

 I received the Ultra Moisturizing Shave Cream ($4.49). Their formulation reminds a lot of Whish with it's really creamy texture. Unlike Whish, this cream doesn't clog the razor and this product helps give an extremely smooth and moisturizing shave. There is no need to apply lotion since this cream moisturizing enough. Plus, it is much more budget friendly. The only thing that I don't like is the scent. The cucumber melon scent is sickeningly sweet. Otherwise, it is a really great product to use! I'll probably try out the Vanilla Bliss or Lavender Jasmine next time. This cream is also available in Island Blue, Fragrance Free and Pomegranate Raspberry.

Even though I have sensitive skin, I haven't experienced any problems so far, but I'm not going to be able to speak for everyone. I'm not very fond of the woodsy scent, but it is very tolerable for me. The only thing I don't agree with is with the $75 price tag. Otherwise, I give it a high recommendation!

After hearing a few friends rave about their products, I wanted to see what the hype was about with Belegenza. I tried out the Simply Straight Progressive Straightener ($23.99) and SpotLite Shine S500 ($18.99).

My hair is a bit thick and naturally wavy, which I have no problem with at all. However, I like to wear my hair straight from time and time. They claim that this product will permanently straighten your hair and tame the frizzies the more you use it. While it hasn't put my beloved GHD out of commission, I've noticed that I don't have to fuss with my hair as much with the flat iron. You can leave it in your hair for 3 hours for dramatic straightening. However, I've been using a small amount for gentle straightening. It has a creamy-like texture and it has a light purple tint - my favorite color! I also really like the smell. It is quite fragrant

The SpotLite Shine S500 is another fantastic product from this line. It can be used for many things, even a cuticle conditioner for nails! I use it on my ends to prevent breakage and so far it has been doing a well done job! It is good for all hair types, especially thinning hair. It can also be used on wet or dry hair.

Review: I'm not only a lip gloss fanatic, but I'm an exfoliation fanatic as well! So I chose the Bourbon Geranium Whipped Sugar Scrub ($16) to review. I wanted to try out floral type scrub this time instead of going for something with a gourmand scent. The smell is beautiful, fragrant and relaxing. It smells a bit like roses. It is beautifully whipped with pure sugar cane crystals, organic shea butter, organic coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil and Bourbon Geranium essential oil. Not only this scrub pampers your skin to perfect, but Bourbon Geranium is known to help relieve stress, PMS, and menopausal symptoms. You can't find too many scrubs that can do that.

Other scrubs you might want to try: Vanilla/Lime Whipped Sugar Scrub (comforting and refreshing), Bergamot/Ylang Ylang Whipped Sugar Scrub (exhilarating and inspirational) and Lavandin/Litsea Cubeba Whipped Sugar Scrub (a mood enhancer and relaxing).

Review: Yes To Tomatoes

Review: I had the wonderful opportunity to try out the Tender Touch Hand Cream from the new Yes To Carrots line, Yes To Tomatoes. This hand cream is nothing like the Yes To Carrots hand cream I tried out in the past. I did not like the Yes To Carrots hand cream at all, because it was ultra thick and greasy. This was definitely not my ideal hand cream and made it's way to the trash after using it a few times. You know it is that bad when I hate to waste. However, the Yes To Tomatoes hand cream is very light and absorbs quickly without a hint of any kind of greasiness. This is perfect for me. It also has a clean, pleasant scent. It doesn't smell like vegetables at all. So you don't have to worry about your hands smelling like tomatoes! If your hands are extremely dry, you might want to try something thicker, like the Yes To Carrots hand cream much as I cringe to say!

I'm definitely going to venture more into the Yes To Tomatoes line since I have combination skin. This is what this new line is ideal for - oily to combination skin. The other products that are included in this line are: Facial Mask and Facial Mask.

I also tried out the C Me Smile Lip Butter ($2.77 at Drugstore.com). I highly recommend this lip butter if you have super dry lips. It works great and it smells really good! It is ultra rich and glides on smoothly. It is not greasy or waxy like most lip balms I've used in the past.

Review: I received the Night Health Bedtime Spray ($25) and
Night Health Bedtime Bath Oil ($28.50). Believe it or not, this is my first time trying out anything from Origins. Weird as it may sound, it is true!

I enjoy using both products, because they're so relaxing. They haven't been helping me doze off into a blissful slumber, but that is just me. I can't speak for everyone. I love the Night Health Bedtime Bath Oil much as I love the Dr. Hauschka Skin Care Lavender Bath Oil ($29.95). They both even smell alike. The Origins smell like lavender more than anything. Like Dr. Hauschka, this bath oil is pure luxury without the hefty price tag. I've been guilty of using it as a body oil as well, because it is that good! I wouldn't mind trying out the other products in the Night Health Collection - Bedtime Face Cream ($55) and Bedtime Balm ($25).

Review: I received the Butter Me Up Body Balm in Orange Vanilla ($14.25) and the Peppermint Tree Foot Balm ($12).

As a lover of citrus scents, I fell in love with the Butter Me Up Body Balm. It is the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. It also rich in moisture. With this body balm, there is no need to re-apply. It has the perfect combination of combination of soothing oils and cocoa butter. I prefer body balms over lotion any day, because most of the time you don't have to re-apply over and over again like you'd with lotion. They also recommend using this body balm for after shave use or to soothe sun burned skin. This is also ideal for dry and itchy skin, especially on the knees and elbows. If you don't think the Orange Vanilla is for you, this body balm is also available in other nose worthy scents: Ylang Ylang, Lavender, Vanilla and Key Lime Vanilla. They also have an Unscented version.

I'll admit that I hate the smell of tea tree oil. However, I do know that it has many good uses. Therefore, I love it for the many things it is good for. The smell is a bit overpowering with the Peppermint Tree Foot Balm. It is something I got used to though. Like the body balm, it is rich in moisture. It is also very soothing. I definitely have to add this foot balm to my list of favorite foot products. And the price? Not bad all!

Review: With so many choices, I had a hard time settling down to one fragrance I wanted to try from DSH Perfumes for my review. Choices, choices, choices! I finally settled for their Madonna Lily ($39.50 - $126) due to the description and the beautiful name. I don't claim to be a perfume snob, but I can be a bit picky. Luckily, I was not disappointed at all with my choice. With harmonious floral notes, the Madonna Lily perfume is the perfect spring scent. It is a bit strong when I first spritz it on. However, the strong smell fades away quickly. Not only it smells good, but the smell lingers throughout the day without having the need to spritz again. This indicates that Dawn uses the finest ingredients in her fragrances. My mom is much pickier than I am and she was very impressed with the Madonna Lily. She said that it reminded her of something she used in the past. Since I like this particular fragrance so much, I wouldn't mind buying from this independent perfumer in the future.

Review: Baby Quasar

Baby Quasar ($449) is a safe and painless light therapy. It is the solution to a superfluity of common skin care problems that many women face: effects of sun damage, age spots, acne, rosacea, eczema and psoriasis. Light therapy has many other benefits such as helping relieve sinus problems, treat depression and helps with muscle & tendon pain.



The Baby Quasar is a portable device that has 24 LED's - a miniature version of professional models used at the derm's office. I was surprised about how lightweight and easy it was to use! With timed signaled intervals, you don't have to worry about overdoing it. They do recommend 28 minutes of usage for 3 times a week to achieve (and maintain) results. The light is slightly warm, but not painful at all. The only thing I was a bit apprehensive about using this device was that I thought it would hurt my eyes. I'm not fond of bright lights at all! I got used to this after awhile though.

Before using the Baby Quasar, they recommend cleansing your face and using their Baby Quasar Pure Silk Daily Anti-Aging Hyaluronic Formula ($60). However, you can use any serum that can easily absorb the laser light. Since I didn't have their formula on hand, I used the En Pointe Precision A Serum ($75).

After you cleanse and apply the serum, you start with the low setting (orange) or the high setting (red) pulse mode. Start on one side (neck, lower cheek, and lips) and placing the head directly on the skin.

Move the wand slowly over the skin, making sure all areas get the light treatment for a full 2 minutes. Move up the cheek to the next area, upper cheek and around the eye. Then after 2 minutes, move to the forehead on one side. Then perform the same treatment on the other side of the face. Give it another go at high pulse (red) after the first light therapy session is complete. You can also use the Baby Quasar on your hands, arms, anywhere that needs improvement in appearance.

I don't have any fine lines, but I have noticed a lot of improvement in other ways. It has made my face a lot smoother and my pores are a no show! It was with instantaneous results with the first session. I wasn't expecting this at all since I do know most skin care products ~and~ beauty tools take awhile to work. They recommend the Baby Quasar Baby Blue ($349) for acne, but this one has also helped out with a few blemishes. I received the Baby Quasar a few months ago and used it faithfully for a couple of weeks (6 sessions) and then slacked off after that due to my busy schedule. However, I'm back in the game!

The Baby Quasar is a fantastic multitasker that I highly recommend. It might be on the pricey side, but it is an investment that is well worth the price for what it does! Still in doubt? It comes with a 5 year warranty. You can also get the Baby Quasar Power Pack for $599 - what a deal!

This would be ideal for dry skin since it will give your skin a natural burst of hydration. They assure you that this toner is the real deal. It is made with 100% certifified organic Bulgarian Rosewater from the Valley of Roses in Bulgaria. It is also blended with their own Kombuchi Tea. They highly recommend using the Rose Water & Kombuchi Firming Facial Toner after cleansing your face with the Rose Geranium Face & Body Wash ($24.50 - $75.50). Since I don't have this particular product, I use the Calendula Creme Facial Cleanser ($30). Sometimes I use the LaRocca 24K Gold Cleanser Exfoliant ($75) instead. I also follow up with the Sea Chi Creme ($59) and the Sea Chi Organics Re-Hydrating Facial Serum.

Their Calendula Creme Facial Cleanser is ideal for 40+ skin. Well, I'm far from being 40! Even though this cleanser is super rich in moisture, it works beautifully when it comes to removing make-up. You can also use this cleanser as a facial mask for deep penetration, which probably wouldn't be a great idea for me since I'm prone to breakouts.

The Sea Chi Organics Re-Hydrating Facial Serum reminds me a lot of the Duchess Marden Damascena Anti-Wrinkle Serum ($58) that I reviewed recently. Like Duchess Marden, I consider it more of a facial oil than a serum. It also doesn't break me out, which is always a good thing! I usually apply it around my eyes to maintain a youthful look. You can also apply it on your neck or by your mouth - anywhere to achieve ~or~ maintain a youthful look! Their "serum" is blended with Organic Golden Jojoba Seed Oil, Oilve Squalane & Sea Buckthorne Berry Extract.

Review: Bubble and Bee Pit Putty

Review: I had a chance to try out their Geranium Lime 'Pit Putty Deodorant Stick ($8.95). Plus, it is the cheapest I have found so far for an organic deodorant. It is not an antiperspirant. Therefore, it doesn't prevent me from sweating at times. However, there is never an odor. The Pit Putty is blended with organic arrowroot powder, organic coconut oil, organic lime essential oil, organic geranium essential oil. It smells fantastic! All you have to gently swipe it on or take a tiny pinch of the putty and rub it on - whatever works best for you! I also like the fact that it doesn't clog pores, irritate the skin and contain any unnecessary chemicals that most traditional deodorants contain. They also have the Original Pit Putty that is ideal for men and women. I highly recommend this line if you're wanting to organic with your deodorant.
