I love everything that I was able to try. I'm putting emphasis on the word able, because I still can't get the toner to open! I even tried to have a few people try opening it without any luck. Eye Makeup Remover - This eye remover is very effective at removing eye make-up without causing an irritation. You can put a small amount on a cotton ball or q-tip - whatever you prefer! You do have to wipe off the excess that is left since it is made with Organic Argan Oil and Organic Sesame Oil. It is a bit small, but a little goes a long way. At $4.99, this is a beauty must have!

Firming Eye Cream - A good eye cream is a must have skincare product for me. I don't think any woman should go without a good eye cream in her beauty arsenal. This eye cream can feel a little greasy, but I found it to be more effective for me when I use a very, very small amount. Therefore, the moisture absorbs more quickly. It is ideal for puffiness, dark circles and fine lines.

Foaming Cleanser - This cleanser gives my face a squeaky clean feeling. Not only it is good for foaming away impurities, but it does a terrific job at gently dissolving make-up. It is a must have for problematic skin!

Gi'ovane Italy Firming Serum & Moisturizer - Like the eye cream, I have to use a very small amount of this as well since it is super rich in moisture. This was actually the first time I ever used anything with Argan Oil in it, and I can see why it is a favorite! It is ideal for all skin types, especially for skin woes such as blemishes, rosacea and pigmentation problems. I'm very happy to report that my complexion is really clear right now.

Now, if I can get that toner to open....

Review: Max Factor 2000 Calorie Waterproof Extreme Lash Plumper Mascara

Review: I had the opportunity to try out the Max Factor 2000 Calorie Waterproof Extreme Lash Plumper Mascara ($9.99) in Blackest Brown. This mascara made it's first debut on the runways of Spring/Summer 2009 Fashion Week in New York. This is the first waterproof mascara I've tried so far that doesn't clump. True to the description, this mascara adds a lot of definition and volume to my lashes without smudging or flaking. There was one small problem though. They weren't kidding about the waterproof part - it took me a good few minutes remove it with the Nature's Paradise Eye Makeup Remover ($4.99).

This mascara is also available in Black Velvet or Extreme Blackout.

America Ferrera Wears Lancôme

Celebrity makeup artist Vanessa Scali created the look for America Ferrera at the Kids' Choice Awards on Saturday night. We've got the scoop, straight from Vanessa, on how to re-create America's glamorous look.



First, before applying any makeup, Vanessa prepped the skin with Lancôme Genifique, a youth activating concentrate that improves tone, texture and luminosity giving the skin a natural glow. To create a flawless complexion, Vanessa used both Lancôme Effacernes concealer and Armani Lasting Silk UV SPF 20 Foundation. She used Armani Fluid Sheer #2 as a highlighter and applied it with her finger to the cheekbone and brow bone. This gave the complexion a bit of added shimmer. Lancôme Color Design Cream Blush in Pret a Plum was applied to the apples of the cheeks for just a pop of color. Shu Uemura Cream Eye Shadow in Beige was lightly dusted on the eyelid and Lancôme Artliner in Noir was applied to the upper lash line. Several coats of Lancôme Ôscillation mascara were applied to the lashes for added length and volume. To compliment America's pinky/coral frock, Lancôme La Laque Fever gloss in Cyber Coral and Techno Brick were mixed together to create a high-shine pout.

24K Gold Cleanser Exfoliant - This cleanser is gentle exfoliation at it's best. It contains natural fossilized hard shell algae that will remove old dead skin cells, unclog pores, and reduce acne breakouts. It has a hint of citrus scent, which I love! My face feels so smooth and super clean after using this cleanser. It also adds vitality and freshness to my skin. This cleanser is gentle enough to use day and night.

Ingredients: Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-6, Orange Peel Oil, Fulvic Acid, Aloe, Chamomile Extract and Green Tea Extract

24K Gold Eye Cream - While I don't have any issues with puffiness, I do get the appearance of dark circles once in awhile. I've noticed that this eye cream has helped out a lot with that little problem. I've also noticed that my eye area is really smooth since I started using this. However, there is one minor issue with me - it burns. The burning sensation goes away within a few minutes though. I let my mom try it herself to see if she would experience the same thing, but she didn't have the same reaction. Otherwise, this eye cream is fantastic and does exactly what it is aimed to do!

Ingredients: Squalene, Witch Hazel, Chamomile Extract, Green Tea Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Vitamins C & E, Dipeptide02, Indian Gooseberry Fruit Extract, Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-6 and Fulvic Acid

24K Gold Face Moisture - This moisturizer is utterly weightless and absorbs quickly. Even though I don't have any wrinkles or fine lines, this moisturizer does a fantastic job of hydrating the skin without making it overdone or greasy. My face feels luxuriously soft. Even though I'm prone to getting breakouts from moisturizers once in awhile, I haven't experienced any when using this moisturizer.


Ingredients: Hexapeptide-6, Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-6, Squalene, Apricot Kernel Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate, Jojoba Seed Oil and Fulvic Acid

C-Gold - I quickly follow up with this product after using the 24K Gold Face Moisture. Like the moisturizer, it makes my face feel very soft. It also gives my face a shimmering hint of gold. The bottle is a bit small, but a little truly does go a long way with this product! You can use the C-Gold as a primer for smooth application with makeup or simply use it by itself.

Ingredients: Cyclopentasiloxane and 15% Vitamin C

To help us out, Head & Shoulders went straight to the woman behind celebrities like Luke Wilson, Jason Schwartzman, James Marsden, Seth Rogan, Judd Apatow and Jonah Hill before they walk down the red carpet, Cheri Keating. We picked Cheri’s brain on how we can use her tips and trick on the men in our lives, and she has some helpful advice for us for getting them ‘back in the game.’



For men to take care of their hair, it’s important to start by taking care of their scalp. Here are some simple scalp and hair care tips from Head & Shoulders Grooming Expert, Cheri Keating to help you get your head in the game.

The Foundation

· Massage the scalp deeply but gently prior to shampooing. Massaging stimulates the blood vessels encouraging a healthy scalp and hair. Then use a gentle shampoo and conditioner system such as Head & Shoulders Classic Clean.

· Never scrub the scalp, it can cause irritation and damage, effecting scalp and hair health.

· In between haircuts, be sure to keep a groomed appearance by trimming unwanted hair on the neck and around the sideburns with trimmers and a pair of small round tipped scissors.

· Consider investing in a natural wooden brush with wooden pins. Brushing hair often with a natural tool, promotes hair and scalp health. Plus, every time you brush your hair you're giving yourself a scalp massage!

The Looks

· The natural textured look is in style this year. The less blow drying, combing and brushing the better. Use matte wax or pomade. Warm a small amount in the palm, working it through barely dry hair. Pull it through the ends of the hair, combing with your fingers from the back of the crown toward the front.

· For an edgy look to hair, after adding wax, move small sections of the hair in different directions keeping the primary movement forward.

· For a side-swept look, again using the fingers as a comb to retain the natural texture of your hair, sweep across the forehead to one side and lightly smooth with a finishing cream.

· For finer hair, use a spray wax to add texture and lift. Lifting sections of hair with the fingers, spray a small amount into the hair, allow to “set” for a minute and then style lightly with the fingers.

Taking care of your scalp and hair is just as important as picking out the right shirt. So get your head in the game by using a system of shampoo and conditioner by Head & Shoulders.

Review: I had the delectable opportunity to try out Coco-Zen's Chocolate Lips-To-Go ($10.50). This has to be one of my favorite lip products! This delicious duo does a great job at keeping my lips exfoliated and hydrated. Plus, both products smell really good! Review: Further Soap

Review: I just got done sampling the Further Hand Soap ($18.50), and I have to say that this has to be the best hand soap I have ever used! It has a very pleasant smell since it is blended with essential oils of bergamot, olive, and exotic grasses. The glycerin in this soap is derived from making biofuel. Marshall, one of the owners picks up used vegetable oil from some of the finest restaurants in LA, then processes it in his garage. The biofuel goes into his car and the glycerin goes into their soap. Talk about eco-fabulous!

Review: I received the Tilvee Raspberry Hydrating Toner ($15.99) for my review. This toner is formulated to protect healthy cells and restore luster. Essential Fatty Acids from Red Raspberry Seed Oil hydrate and restore elasticity. Their Citrus essential oil blend leaves your skin feeling fresh and revitalized.

I've been using this toner after I've cleansed my face and before applying facial products such as creams and serums. Like most of the organic products I've been sampling lately, it comes in a beautiful cobalt blue glass bottle. It is true to scent, because it smells strongly of raspberry. The raspberry smell disappears quickly after I spritz it on my face a few times though. So you don't have to worry about smelling like raspberries. Most importantly, this is a fantastic toner and it is ideal for all skin types. They also have a Cranberry Clarifying Toner ($15.99) that is ideal for Normal to Oily Skin.

I wouldn't mind trying out other products from this line: Acai Pomegranate Rejuvenating Masque ($23.99), Botanical Rejuvenating Oil ($23.99) and Tea Tree Facial Cleansing Bar ($8.99).

Review: Dr. Miracles

Review: I let my mom try out the Dr. Miracle's Temple & Nape Gro Balm ($7.99) since this product was a bit too heavy for my hair. My mom was a bit leery of this product at first, but she noticed that her hair has got much thicker within a month. This balm targets the temple and nape areas where hair is easily broken off or damaged. Infused with vitamins, the balm soothes and invigorates the growth of the hair by ending breakage and split ends by penetrating the scalp.



Review: I was able to use the Dr. Miracle's Anti-Breakage Strengthening Cream ($7.99) without any problems. This product isn't heavy on my hair at all. I started really using it after I got my hair trimmed a few weeks ago. I'm very pleased with this product! It has been keeping the breakage at bay. I'll admit that I was a bit scared of trying out this product from the Dr. Miracles brand, because I had heard so many bad reviews. I must say what works for one person might not work for another person.

This cream stimulates the follicle, promoting strong, shiny, healthy growing hair. This featherlight cream moisturizes and conditions, healing damage accrued by stress, traction, heat or chemical styling, and overstretching strands with weaving or braiding styles.

Review: Farfalla Fresh Lime Body Butter

Review: I love just about anything lime, and this body butter is far from being a disappointment! The Farfalla Fresh Lime Body Butter is rich and creamy. I like to use body butter on my legs since they usually get the driest. The scent is light, yet very pleasant and sweet. It is also very moisturizing and absorbs quickly without leaving any kind of greasy feeling. This body butter is regularly $25, but you can get it on sale for $12.50 at Beautorium, my favorite eco-friendly online retailer.

Review: Cynthia created Florere after a friend's mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. The experience helped her become more aware of the products that she was eating and using on her body. She believes that we should view the items that we put on our skin much the same as the food that we put on our plates. Florere is 100% vegan. They have been approved by PETA and CCIC for no animal testing.

The company is called Florere (pronounced 'flow-rare') - it's a latin verb which means 'to bloom or flourish, like a flower.' She chose this name to utilize essential extracts of flowers and only natural ingredients in all of their products.

Original Cream Formula ($8.50). Both products are non-metallic, free from parabens, free from aluminum salts and irritating chemicals. They're also ideal for all skin types and could be used by men or women. Even though both products are the same, I prefer the stick form. However, I enjoy using both! After hearing so much bad about traditional deodorants, I stopped using them about a couple months ago. The Florere deodorant has become one of my favorites. I like that you can apply it like a traditional deodorant without much fuss. I also like that it goes on clear - it doesn't leave any kind of residue behind. The smell is also very pleasant. I'm honestly not sure if too many guys would like the floral fragrance, but that is just my opinion. Since I'm a female that embraces her femininity, I appreciate the floral smell!

Atlanta-Based Brow/ Lash Stylist Wins 3D Beauty's 2008 Photo Contest

It's been said that beauty's in the genes, and for Atlanta entrepreneur, Darnethea Lawrence, that statement has a double meaning. The brow/ lash stylist is a third generation beauty practitioner and business owner. Having spent much of her childhood in her grandmother's and then mother's hair salons, she saw the boost in confidence women received when they were happy with their appearance. Ms. Lawrence eventually realized that she also wanted to help them in achieving that feeling, so in 2005 she enrolled at the International School of Skin and Nails.

After graduating in 2006, Darnethea perfected her craft at the Alicia Art Complete Salon. Then, in 2007, she founded her own company. As the economy worsened, clients' purse strings got tighter. Therefore, at the encouragement of her client, Marjorie Harvey, she decided to move her business into an already-established salon. Mrs. Harvey - the wife of comedian, actor and radio personality, Steve Harvey - recommended that the single mother of two work at the popular U Salon in the affluent Buckhead section of Atlanta. Soon after, she became a certified 3D Beauty lash technician, eventually earning trainer status. She also added Dwight Eubanks, of the Real Housewives of Atlanta to her client roster and worked on his brows for the show's promotional commercials. Darnethea's proudest professional moment, though, came when she got the news that her lash work had won 3D Beauty's 2008 Photo contest for flair lashes and for general lash application. She was selected from a pool of 56 applicants based on her precision and the natural look of the lash extensions she applied.

Darnethea hopes to extend her client base to include more celebrities and to eventually become a well known name in the beauty industry. She knows it'll require a lot of work, but she's ready to take on the challenge one lash at a time.

Review: I tried out their Washing Grains ($30). This product has a blend of flowers and oatmeal combined with Chinese pearl and jasmine tea to clean and tighten pores while gently detoxifying the skin. I love the smell of their washing grains - so relaxing! It reminds of a floral mask I tried out in the past. I found this product suitable for my sensitive skin. It wasn't harsh at all and it will give your skin a nice glow. I've been tempted to use it as a facial mask, but I'm not sure how well that would go. It is a bit pricey for the size, but I highly recommend it if you have sensitive skin!

Review: eos

About eos: Everything about eos – from their ingredients to the why-didn't-anyone-think-of-this-before packaging to the irresistible feel and scent of their lotions and creams and balms – is created to be pretty remarkable and remarkably pretty.

eos fits a woman's sense of style and also lets her have fun in the process of getting more beautiful.



Review: I received the Ultra Moisturizing Shave Cream ($4.49). Their formulation reminds a lot of Whish with it's really creamy texture. Unlike Whish, this cream doesn't clog the razor and this product helps give an extremely smooth and moisturizing shave. There is no need to apply lotion since this cream moisturizing enough. Plus, it is much more budget friendly. The only thing that I don't like is the scent. The cucumber melon scent is sickeningly sweet. Otherwise, it is a really great product to use! I'll probably try out the Vanilla Bliss or Lavender Jasmine next time. This cream is also available in Island Blue, Fragrance Free and Pomegranate Raspberry.

Review: While this product hasn't zapped every blemish in sight, I noticed that small breakouts have been kept to the minimal.
This product has 5.0% benzoyl peroxide. Benzoyl peroxide usually causes irritation, especially with sensitive skin. Even though I have sensitive skin, I haven't experienced any problems so far, but I'm not going to be able to speak for everyone. I'm not very fond of the woodsy scent, but it is very tolerable for me. The only thing I don't agree with is with the $75 price tag. Otherwise, I give it a high recommendation!

Review: After hearing a few friends rave about their products, I wanted to see what the hype was about with Belegenza. I tried out the Simply Straight Progressive Straightener ($23.99) and SpotLite Shine S500 ($18.99).

My hair is a bit thick and naturally wavy, which I have no problem with at all. However, I like to wear my hair straight from time and time. They claim that this product will permanently straighten your hair and tame the frizzies the more you use it. While it hasn't put my beloved GHD out of commission, I've noticed that I don't have to fuss with my hair as much with the flat iron. You can leave it in your hair for 3 hours for dramatic straightening. However, I've been using a small amount for gentle straightening. It has a creamy-like texture and it has a light purple tint - my favorite color! I also really like the smell. It is quite fragrant

The SpotLite Shine S500 is another fantastic product from this line. It can be used for many things, even a cuticle conditioner for nails! I use it on my ends to prevent breakage and so far it has been doing a well done job! It is good for all hair types, especially thinning hair. It can also be used on wet or dry hair.
