Review: Cures by Avance Age Defyer Eye Cream

CURES represents a collection of skincare and body care products that are curative and corrective. Their goal is to focus on skin conditions and not on skin types. CURES has created services and treatments that treat the root cause of the condition, offering long-term results.

The Cures by Avance Age Defyer Eye Cream ($50) is a fantastic eye cream that will help defy deep lines, under eye bags and loss of elasticity. It is a bit pricey, but worth every penny if you're experiencing any of these problems. There are thousands of eye creams out there, but most of them don't work. I've found this company to stick by their word. I've been using this religiously for about a couple weeks now and have noticed a lot of improvement around my eyes. It has given my eye area a fresh, well rested and radiant look. It even helped my allergy eye dark circles.

Other products from this line that I wouldn't mind trying: Anti Acne Mask ($32), Sea Mist Toner ($23), Algae Deep Pore Cleanser ($34) and Hydrating Body Silk ($26).

Review: Delish Bath

Review:
While these "cupcakes" look downright edible, I wouldn't think about it if I were you. I received two cupcakes, a large Lemon Fluff ($6) and a mini Birthday Cake ($3). I'm a sucker for any beauty product that smells like lemon, but the Birthday Cake won me over. I honestly didn't want to use them at first since they look so adorable. These would make perfect gifts for anyone who like gourmand beauty products.

Other cupcakes available: Lucky, Sweetie Pie, Carrot Cake, Fruit Sorbet, Cotton Candy, Creamy Vanilla, Oh Honey! and Hot Fudge Sundae.

Review: Derma E

derma e® began with a simple vision for healthy skin, a vision that still defines them today. In the 1960’s the Stearn family realized that topical application of Vitamin E would benefit skin health: derma e® was born.

Today derma e® offers a full line of natural, therapeutic skin and hair care formulations rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and botanicals. The Cleansing Enzyme Mask ($13.95) is perfect for all skin types, this natural, deep cleansing mask combines Dead Sea Salts with Sea Kelp, Green Tea, Bentonite and Kaolin Clays to detoxify, remove impurities, deep clean pores and absorb excess skin oils. This rejuvenating spa-like formula reveals more refined, younger looking skin.

Fruit enzymes also help to thoroughly detoxify, cleanse and remove dull aging cells from the skin's surface. Benefits are numerous including deeply cleansed skin and the promotion of new cell growth, leaving your skin glowing and smooth.

Facial masks are an ideal way to gently exfoliate the skin. As we age, skin cells die, collagen and elastin production slows down and pores become blocked. Regular exfoliation increases the circulation in the skin, allows the skin to breathe easier, and reveals younger looking skin.

Review: I love this mask! I just started using this mask 3 times a week and I love soft and clean my face feels afterwards. It doesn't dry my face out at all! The tingling effect is a nice added perk. It applies easily and covers evenly without leaving traces white residue after you wash it off. I noticed while it helps minimize the appearance of pores, it doesn't seem to help get rid of blackheads, which isn't a big deal with me. I also love the scent - a light, fruity scent. I can see myself buying this product often, especially at this price!

The Fruit Enzyme Facial Scrub ($13.95) is a natural exfoliating scrub combines Dead Sea Salts to draw out impurities with Papaya enzymes, Cornmeal and Apricot shells to softly exfoliate skin, smoothing away dull surface cells for fresh, radiant skin. Enriched with soothing Chamomile, this scrub is gentle enough for daily use.

Dead Sea Salts help remove deeply ingrained impurities, absorb excess skin oils and purify and gently exfoliate skin. Fruit enzymes also help to thoroughly detoxify, cleanse and remove dull aging cells from the skin's surface. Benefits are numerous including deeply cleansed skin and the promotion of new cell growth, leaving your skin glowing and smooth.

Facial scrubs are an ideal way to gently exfoliate the skin. As we age, skin cells die, collagen and elastin production slows down and pores become blocked. Regular exfoliation increases the circulation in the skin, allows the skin to breathe easier, and reveals younger looking skin.

Review: I've been using the Fruit Enzyme Facial Scrub along with the Cleansing Enzyme Mask ($13.95). This has become one of my favorite facial scrubs! I use this 3 times a week, but I believe it would be gentle enough to use everyday. It is whatever you prefer! I love how this facial scrub isn't abrasive at all, which is very important to me since I have sensitive skin. This facial scrub has the same pleasant scent like the Cleansing Enzyme Mask . I can also see myself buying this product again and again.

Review: Mineral Hygienics

Their mission at Mineral Hygienics is to be the premier cosmetic manufacturer focusing on using natural products to promote health. They use natural ingredients to develop superior cosmetics that meet and exceed customer expectations – they will not compromise on quality.

Superior Cosmetics: “Superior Cosmetics” is why they are in business. When Mineral Hygienics develops a product, there is both reason and logic in its formula. Every product has a purpose, and the reason for conception is to be better than the competition. It is not our plan to release thousands of sub-par products, and saturate the market. Before their customers even use a product, they want them to feel comfort knowing that it was developed with care and reason, and after they use the product they want them to be so excited that they feel the need to share the excitement with others around them.

Review: I received the Mineral Hygienics Medium Startup Kit ($59.99). I've been a fan of mineral cosmetics for several months now. After trying out mineral foundation over the summer, I've hardly looked back ever since.

The kit I received complements my skin tone real well. I can't tell when I'm wearing it since it looks so natural. It looks so natural that I almost forget that I have on. What I love about mineral foundation is that it is weightless, it gives my skin a silky feel, blends in flawlessly and doesn't cause breakouts like other foundations have in the past. For best results, I use the Organicare Fresh Fix Hydrating Mist To-Go ($29.50) to set my mineral make-up in to assure that it stays in place throughout the day.

The only thing I didn't find any use for in this kit was the bronzer, which was quickly snatched up by my sister. I've never been much of a bronzer fan, but my sister loves it!

If you're looking for a great mineral foundation line, I highly recommend Mineral Hygienics!

Review: My Lip Stuff

My Lip Stuff has a wide range of lip balms to satisfy your lip cravings. With over 400 flavors, you're bound to find your favorite flavor! This alone sets this lip balm company apart from most of the companies that put out lip balm products. Their lip balms are so good, it is hard to believe they are vegan.

Review: I received 6 of their customer favorites. This includes Eggnog Cheesecake, Snickerdoodle, Rainbow Sherbert, Orange Creamsicle, Monkey Farts and Lemon Buttercream. Between all of the flavors I was able to try, their limited edition flavors won my heart, Snickerdoodle and Eggnog Cheesecake. This is the best lip balm I have ever tried. It wasn't too balmy like I was expecting it to be. Even though it is lip balm, it looks and feels like I'm wearing lip gloss! It is very yummy and moisturizing.

I'd also love to try out their Ticket to Mexico (Flan, Mexican Hot Chocolate, Sangria, Pina Colada, Margarita, and Dulce de Leche). That "trip" looks quite inviting!

Review: MyChelle Clear Skin Serum

For more than twenty years, Myra Michelle Eby, the founder of MyChelle Dermaceuticals, has been involved at every level of the natural products industry.

“It seems as if I have been in the natural products industry forever,” she says, “and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

From vitamin consultant at the retail level to representing a natural products distributor, then years as an independent sales representative for manufacturers of natural remedies and natural skin care, Myra has cultivated a well-rounded knowledge of the skin care industry. As a top sales producer, she successfully conducted many educational trainings and consumer seminars on nutritional supplements and natural skin care.

Weary of the road, and practically living out of her car, Myra was ready for a new chapter in her career. As a sales representative for various quality natural cosmetic companies, she became increasingly aware of a growing demand from consumers seeking uniquely different skin care products offering highly active, anti-aging ingredients that address sun damage and avoid commonly used and potentially harmful cosmetic ingredients and preservatives. MyChelle Dermaceuticals was launched!

Clear Skin Serum reduces oil production, clears pores of dirt and debris, and relieves the skin of inflammation and discomfort while reducing the chance of scar tissue formation. Natural acids ensure healthy cellular turnover and encourage collagen production. Great for spot treatment or all over blemish prone area.

Review: The Clear Skin Serum ($26.95) is now one of my favorite products to apply on my face after cleansing. However, you can use this any where on your body. It is a must have in my skin care arsenal! I like it much better than the last anti acne serum I used, because I was able to get quicker results. Due to the price, I wish this serum was a little bigger though. t doesn't really seem to work well with blackheads (in my case), but it does a great job at keeping other blemishes at bay.

Review: AG Hair Cosmetics

I tried out the Colour Savour Shampoo and Conditioner. Both products smell really nice and feature sulfate-free surfactants, herbal extracts, Meadowfoam seed oil and Heliogenol (sunflower seed extract). The conditioner also includes Keratin and wheat protein to improve strength, elasticity and shine.

I don't color my hair at all. Therefore, I was a bit surprise to receive this. It honestly didn't matter since these products are great for your hair regardless if you color your hair or not. While I didn't get much sheen or moisture in my hair that I was hoping for, it made my hair feel incredibly soft and added more bounce and volume to my hair. I'd love to try out the Xtramoist Shampoo and Ultramoist Moisturizer since moisture is what I usually aim for my dry hair when using shampoo and conditioners.

The DV8 Texture Spray is a multi-tasking spray that you can spray into clean damp or dry hair to add definition to your hair. You can also spray it on your roots and blow dry afterwards to see more definition...and volume. I was so convinced that this product would be like hairspray, which I absolutely hate. It was nothing like that at all. This product is even alcohol-free. It reminds me so much of pomade, but without the mess!

The Maximizer - A Spring Fling You Can Count On

Spring winds, torrential rain and damp doldrums are synonymous with Spring and can play terrible head games with your hair. It's Mother Nature's way of shaking off winter and this can be a wreck on one's hair unless the Philip Kingsley Maximizer ($20 - $35) is near.

Philip Kingsley, world renowned trichologist, recommends the Philip Kinsley Maximizer for any and all Spring snafus! It's the perfect product for limp, flyaway hair that seems to come with April showers. The Maximizer gives incredible volume, adds bounce, control and shine in one fell swoop.

Worried about your color treatments getting the slow heave-ho, have no fear: Maximizer protects that, too.

Prescriptives All Skins and Jillian Veran Q&A

All Skins puts the spotlight on Prescriptives custom blended products, making it simple and easy to find the perfect foundation, every time. In support of All Skins, Prescriptives is offering a purchase with purchase - buy any Prescriptives foundation and receive a foundation brush for $17.

Click here for the latest coupons and deals for Prescriptives.

1. Do different skin types need different foundation formulas?

Absolutely - the environment can affect how our skin behaves so the same skin can even need different types of foundation during the year. In today’s beauty world there are so many options, the best thing to do is to address what you want and need from your foundation. Do you like a sheer, luminous, satin or matte finish? Do you like liquid, cream or powder formulas? And of course what is your skin type - normal, dry, oily, combination?

2. What is the best way to apply foundation? Should I use a sponge, a brush or my fingertips?

Applying foundation is a personal preference and each method creates a different finish. Using your fingers will allow for a sheerer finish; a sponge is a little tricky for a non-makeup artist as it can place a lot of foundation in one spot so be sure to move quickly across the areas you are applying to; a brush is always great as it helps you create a very smooth even finish.
Also, I always recommend using the Px Buff Brush after your foundation is dry to soften the look of the makeup and create a sheer air brushed effect.

3. If I'm testing foundation in a department store, is it ok to do a swatch on my hand? Or should I always test the foundation on my face?

The best and most accurate way to test foundation is on the side of the face along the jaw line. Stick to this method for fool proof matching.

4. If my skin tone is between foundation shades, what's the best solution?

Prescriptives Custom Blend Foundation is ideal for this. Your foundation can be blended not only to exactly match your skins own unique undertones, but also to create whatever finish and skin care needs you desire.

5. What foundations are best for acne prone skin? For dry skin? For mature skin

All skin types should start with a foundation primer like Px Flawless Face Primer. This will allow the makeup to wear longer and for a seamless finish.

Dry skin should wear a moisture based formula and should steer away from powder formulas. But if you prefer powder, use a soft cream-to-powder formula like Px Photochrome Light-Adjusting Compact Makeup SPF 15.
Normal skin can wear whatever they like, it’s all about preference.
Oily or acne prone skin should wear an oil-free formula. Powder foundation is great for this type of skin.
Mature skin must be hydrated before applying any foundation. The foundation shouldn’t be too matte or heavy as this can accentuate the age of the skin.

6. Do foundations with sunscreen provide enough protection? Should I need to wear extra sunscreen?

Sun damage is the leading cause of aging. So no, using foundation as sunscreen isn’t the best idea. Foundation doesn’t provide a full mask on the skin so the sun will get through.
Always use an SPF under your foundation for that extra layer of protection. I highly recommend Prescriptives All Weather Friend SPF 40 as it’s incredibly lightweight and feels great under foundation.

Review: SD Lash Gel

Enjoy longer, more luxurious lashes naturally! An all-natural clear gel that is applied to lash line. Apply once-a-day to see results in 3-4 weeks. Can also be applied under mascara as a plumper, simply apply SD Lash Gel ($49) to lashes, wait 1-2 minutes and then apply mascara.

Product is dispensed by clicking the end and applying with brush.

Review: I was very pleased to give this eyelash (and eyebrow) conditioner since it is natural. This is a switch, because most of the eyelash conditioners out there are far from being organic and they sting whenever I apply them around my eyes. I get very apprehensive when it comes to applying anything around my eyes. I actually had accidentally got this in eye when I was applying this on my lashes. I was expecting it to sting, but it didn't at all! I used this for over a month and have noticed that my lashes look much better than they were. I'm now using my second clicker and I'm hoping to get even better results within time. No matter how many eyelash conditioners I have used in the past, it seems like my lashes thin out within time when I wear certain mascaras. However, I'm trying to break away from my usual favorites and go organic all the way with my mascara so I don't have this problem.

Review: To find another flat iron to compare to my GHD is well... a bit unheard of! I couldn't believe that this flat iron delivers the same results that the GHD does and more. I wish that the GHD had adjustable heat settings, because too much heat isn't a good thing for your hair. I love the fact that this one does. It is also easy to flip or curl my hair with this flat iron when I'm not in the mood for sleek and straight hair.

I highly recommend this flat iron if you're looking for budget friendly flat iron that delivers high end results. I can see why so many bloggers are raving about this flat iron in the blogosphere. No to break the piggy bank to have great hair!

Review: The Body Deli

The Body Deli is the pioneer in fresh, raw, organic skin and body care. Their products are designed to rejuvenate and give your face and body the glow of healthy skin. The foundation of health starts at the cellular level. Their philosophy for a healthy lifestyle starts with a diet high in alkaline forming foods, enzymes, minerals, amino acids and rich in raw super foods. This is the formula for a beautiful body inside and out. Your skin is the largest organic of the body and needs the same quality nutrition that you feed yourself internally. Feeding your skin has never been so delicious!

This spa quality mud masque now makes it possible to give yourself a facial at home. This imported Canadian mineral mud masque is designed to deeply cleanse the pores. This mask draws out excess oil, debris and toxins from the skin, while it helps to shrink and minimize the appearance of the pores.

The Glacial Mineral Mud Masque ($24) is one of my facial masques to use. This is one of the few that I often find myself grabbing for. This masque is not thick, very easy to apply and the scent is quite pleasant for a mud masque! It dries quickly and leaves my face with a healthy glow that will usually last throughout the day. It also washes off easily and doesn't leave any kind of residue - a nice surprise for a facial masque!

Fresh Ingredients:

Glacial Mineral Mud, Bentonite Clay, Organic Aloe Vera Juice, Micro Clustered Ionized Water, Colloidal Silver, Allantoin, Squalane, Evening Primrose, Rose-Hips, Calendula, Carrot Seed, Chamomile, Japanese Honeysuckle, Rosemary oil, Grapefruit Seed Extract, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, Benzoin, Lecithin, Honey, Lavender, Ylang-Ylang, Rose, Lime, Geranium.

Indulge in this amazing one of a kind facial polish. This anti-oxidant rich organic Blueberry Fusion Scrub ($36) is the ultimate exfoliant to gently create a smooth as silk complexion. Fresh Blueberries are blended to keep the high levels of anti-oxidant activity intact and create a treatment that feeds the skin as it exfoliates. All natural fruit acids are added in combination with natural earth particles that create the perfect balance of exfoliating action to leave your skin feeling rejuvenated, soft and smooth. Bio-active Fresh Cells are added for their beneficial nutritional value. For best results place a quarter size dollop of Blueberry Polish in your hand and apply to face in a circular motion, then rinse off well. Use this scrub 2-3 times a week for best results.

Review: This is my favorite product from this line so far. It leaves my skin feeling so refreshed and smooth. It is also almost good enough to eat, but I don't recommend that though. I also don't recommend using this scrub if you're experiencing any sensitivity on your face, because it will sting! This is a small splurge worth trying. After trying this out, I can see why this is one of the top sellers!

Fresh Ingredients:

Organic Aloe Vera Juice, Colloidal Oatmeal, Guar Gum, Organic Blueberries, Xanthan Gum, Diatomaceous Earth, Vitamin E, Organic Meadowfoam Seed Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, Carrot Seed Oil, Organic Rose Hip Oil, Vegetable Glycerin, Rosemary Oil Extract, Fresh Cells of Pomegranate and Kiwi, Organic Fruit Acid Enzymes, Potassium Sorbate.

Other Products from The Body Deli that I wouldn't mind buying: Sea Cucumber Gelee ($46), French Clay & Algae Masque ($24), Bamboo Polishing Powder ($15), Botanical Living Hair Kit ($28) and Firming Flax Eye Cream ($42).

Needless to say, I can see why Kate Hudson is a big fan of this line!

Review: Goddess Lights Parisian Nights Face and Body Shimmer

For instant glamour no matter the occasion, the Global Goddess Beauty Lights Parisian Nights Face and Body Shimmer ($32.50) adds a oui bit of French elegance to your beauty routine.

Sparkle with Parisian flare as you lavish in this full body glamorous experience. A lovely essence of romance surrounds you as light reflects in a playful fashion. Guaranteed to make heads turn, each pouf of Parisian Nights will transform skin with quintessential romantic touchability and sexy shimmer.

This sensuous, lightweight shimmer powder is designed to illuminate the skin from head to toe.

Review:
I love the Global Goddess Beauty Lights Parisian Nights Face and Body Shimmer . I was never fond of body shimmers after trying out a body shimmer by Victoria's Secret a few years back, especially since it caused an allergic reaction. Therefore, I was little apprehensive about trying this one out, but at least I didn't have any problems with this shimmer. It can be a little messy like most shimmers are, but I found it easier to apply with a make-up brush than with the applicator it came with. I love to mix it up with my mineral foundation to spice up my make-up routine a little bit. Surprisingly, it doesn't break me out. I also love to add a dash on my arms and clavicle. It is beautiful and sexy without a hint of gaudiness.

The Global Goddess Beauty Lights Parisian Nights Face and Body Shimmer is available at Dillard's locations, Victoria's Secret and Global Goddess Beauty.

My Lips Are Sealed

Review: Kiss My Face Sheer Organic

Sheer organic shimmers & shines contain natural mineral color, vitamins A&E to repair and protect lips and have a luscious organic flavor – mint with a hint of vanilla. All are earth friendly products containing no parabens, SLS, phthalates, synthetic colors or flavors, and use of animal ingredients or testing.

Review: I received the Kiss My Face Sheer Organic Shine in Garnet ($6.95) and Kiss My Face Sheer Organic Shimmer in Topaz ($4.95). I really like the Shimmer lip balm, but I fell in love with the Shine lip gloss. It is so good that I can't hardly believe it is organic... and affordable. It is a really gorgeous color! However, it doesn't have the staying power that the lip balm it has when I'm drinking or eating. Therefore, I have to re-apply afterwards. I'm definitely going to rack up on other colors when these babies finally hit one of the local stores where I get most of my organic skincare and make-up.

Review: Delirium & Co. China Tea Candle

Inspired by idealistic periods in history, Delirium & Co. is a romantic and stylish home fragrance line that will bring a touch of luxury and sophistication to any space. Encased in a unique, hand-made translucent reflective glass and housed in a modern chic box, these rich fragrances will leave a lasting scent that will invoke moods and create memories. Delirium and Co. candles come in two collections: “The Silver Period” and “The Blue Period”, each period creating its own unique ambiance:

Delirium & Co. candle Silver Period is an enveloping set of fragrances that invoke beauty, glamour, elegance and style. Imagine Silver Screen Legends Marilyn Monroe, Ava Gardner and Grace Kelly indulging in the “Silver Period”, a sultry time when raw beauty co-existed with strength, vulnerability and femininity.

Delirium & Co. candle Blue Period marks a journey of commanding fragrances that tantalize the senses. Dark, mysterious and regal, the “Blue Period” invokes a time of long ago European splendor, capturing the essence of royalty and sophistication, a time when men were brave, suave and chivalrous.

Review: I received the Delirium & Co. China Tea ($38) candle, which is a sophisticated and exotic blend of bergamot, Ceylon tea, citrus accord, tea blossoms, raspberry and seaside moss. I wasn't expecting to like this candle so well since I was judging by the name of the fragrance. It has a strong, perfumey scent. I could smell it even before I got it out of the box! I almost hated to burn it since it smells so good. Since it is soy candle (my personal favorite), it burns clean and is long lasting (55+ hours of burn time). I wish I had a perfume that smells good as this candle! I wouldn't mind trying out the two other candles in "The Silver Period" collection, the Delicate Bouquet (reminiscent of Slatkin's famous White Flowers candle) and Pear & Violet (reminiscent of Slatkin's famous Green Tea & White Pear candle).

Review: The Clarity Control Blemish Fighting AHA Serum ($45) has powerful clarifying effects of three natural AHAs combine to dramatically help clear skin without causing dryness or irritation. Aloe vera soothes and softens the skin. It is also oil-free and hypoallergenic.

I first found out about this brand on Nordstrom. I love organic skincare and make-up, because most of the products hardly ever irritate my sensitive skin. Plus, I feel better what I'm putting on my face when I use organic. Needless to say, I had to give this brand a try! However, does this product work? Yes! It works for me. It doesn't work overnight, but I noticed a difference in my skin after using this product for a few days. I like how it tightens the skin like most serums do. The only thing I don't like is that the pump squirts out too much of the serum when honestly a little goes a long way!

Review: Carry Fresh Fix Hydrating Mist To-Go ($29.50) with you to rehydrate and refresh skin's glow throughout the day. Contains aloe vera to quench thirsty skin, lavender to calm the senses, and green tea to invigorate tired, dull skin. An excellent boost to refresh your look after airplane travel and perfect for setting makeup (ideal for mineral makeup).

Since I don't ever travel by airplace (and don't plan on ever doing so), I've been using this for the latter. It leaves a clean and hydrated base to work in my mineral foundation (while keeping my skin hydrated) and it works beautifully!

We received 4 tins of the Lemongrass - Aid for Energy and Focus, Eucalyptus - Relief from Coughs and Colds, Citrus - Energy Blend, and the Bergamot - Relief from Stress ($15.95 each) along with a few samples of the sachets.

I was skeptical before using this, because I wasn't sure how a patch could do much. However, I was still eager to give these products a try since you can never know unless you try something. I'm trying to go natural and organic with a lot of things. So this is one brand I know that I will definitely buy in the future.

The first one I tried out was the Eucalyptus patch since I have bad sinuses and wanted quick relief. I used two at a time to make sure this product would work. Even though it didn't give me total relief, it did help me breathe much better. The strong Eucalyptus scent helped me a great deal. I'd prefer to use this over the Neti Poti, because the Neti Poti doesn't always help since it is good at drying out my sinuses due to the saline, which makes even more unbearable to breathe.

I tried out the Lemongrass and Citrus for energy. I didn't use both at the same time since that would defeat the purpose. Please note that it is not a good idea to use different patches at the same time. Both seem to give me the perfect amount of energy without the crash and burn effect that I would get from an energy drink. The scents are also subtle, yet pleasant. My mind is usually in a thousand places since I stay busy with work, motherhood, and everything else. So I thought the Lemongrass patch would help me focus, but I honestly didn't see a difference. Then again, it could just be me.

Last, but not least, we tried out the Bergamot. It worked out much better than I thought it would! So good that we're out! It helped calm our nerves due to holiday stress. It was the busiest year for us and it was taking a toll on us. This actually gave us quick relief from stress. It helped us relax all day without feeling stressed or irritable. Guess what I will be buying, especially during the next holiday season?

Review: Nilaa Silk Acne Neem Mask

The Secrets of ancient Indian beauty formulas are unearthed in the hidden hills of Topanga, California. Nilaa Silk was born when two powerful forces came together; the ancient secrets and recipes of East India and the techniques of skin care in modern day Los Angeles. Nilaa Silk is the creation of Sigrid Jensen of Malibu and Felix Stephen of Bangalore, India. The pair synthesized their two worlds to create a natural and unique line in skin care. Stephen with his practical knowledge in Ayurveda and Jensen with a passion for organic skin care, have formulated eight amazing products in their Topanga Canyon home. Their products range from their top selling Roja Spray, a hydrating face and body mist, to all natural healing and firming herbal masks, and most recently a line of lotions that include face, body and eye creme, and a cleaning creme.

Nilaa Silk was born with the hope that it would spread the message of a natural skin care line that truly works in clearing up acne and blemishes, cleansing and moisturizing skin. Nilaa Silk is a naturally effective alternative to harsh chemicals that are offered in most other lines. Nilaa Silk's products provide an organic barrier against pollution and infection causing bacteria. Nilaa Silk's products not only address symptoms but to follow one of the Ayurvedic principles, which is to heal the root cause and restore skin to its natural healthy state.

Stephan says, "I started using my grandmother's formulas on my daughters skin and when my friends and clients saw the results -- well there you are, "Nilaa Silk."

Jensen explains, "I started the line because I wanted other people to be able to heal, clear up and moisturize their skin naturally without all of the harsh drying chemicals that are being used in acne treatments such as benzoyl peroxide."

Nilaa Silk uses NO sulfates, parabens, synthetic fragrance, glycols, petrochemicals, synthetic colors, artificial preservatives, silicons, TEA, DEA, or PEGs.

Their acne mask is a scientifically formulated blend that heals existing acne and minimized future breakouts. It rejuvenated skin by infusing it with minerals that strengthen and restore cell membranes. Neem, amla and tulsi work together to cleanse the skin, killing any bacteria, infusing it with rich antioxidants, and teaching the skin cells how to embody moisture so as to stop the overproduction of oil. Neem is a powerful antibacterial, anti fungal, antiviral, and antiseptic, while amla is the richest source of Vitamin C. Once strengthened these cells can absorb and retain moisture, restoring skin its original baby smooth state, free from any blemishes.

Review: This acne mask ($38) works really well. Not to get off the subject, but this didn't really wasn't much of a surprise to me since I have a hair product by Sundari with neem in it and it is one of the best hair products I ever tried! The only thing I don't like about neem is that it smells horrid. Ever been in a horse stable? That is what the smell reminds me of. Within two days of use most acne on my face disappeared. My face gets beet red after removing the mask, but this is it's way of detoxifying my skin. However, the redness goes away with minutes! The smells took a little getting use to, but that didn't really matter, especially how much improvement it did with the blemishes. I tried mixing this with water, but it can also be mixed with Roja Spray ($32) or egg yolk - very interesting, might have to try that! They recommend using this mask 1 - 3 times a week. If you're looking for a more natural treatment, this is one mask that I highly recommend.

Review: Jimeale

Young, vivacious Australian designer and entrepreneur, Jimeale Jorgensen launched her collection "Jimeale" just over a year ago and has hit her stride with a charming and purposeful collection of travel accessories. In a short amount of time, Jimeale has successfully turned a single inspiration into a global line of cosmetic bags, diaper totes, men's toiletry bags, shower caps and weekend totes.

The inception of the collection came when Jimeale was vacationing in Miami. She took notice of her friend's cosmetic bag and declared it "daggy" (Australian for unfashionable). Without further ado, while sunning poolside, Jimeale promptly sketched the first of her bags. "Jimeale" the brand was born. "Scintillating, outgoing, practical, witty and colorful" are all qualities that describe Jimeale and are showcased through out her line. When it comes to bags, Jimeale's philosophy has always been, "What you carry reflects how you feel".

All of Jimeale's designs are innovative, modern and sensibly priced - a key component to the brand's global success. Every piece in the collection is intricately designed and vibrantly colored. Every zipper and pocket is meticulously thought out and finished to the highest standard using quality fabrics and finishes, including YKK zippers, pockets that are double-lined and interior linings that are not only water resistant and durable, but also beautifully styled. Function meets fashion is the core of every decision and a personal touch is felt throughout Jimeale's collections.

The team at Jimeale strongly believes in social responsibility, generously donating 15% of net profits from the SoHo collection to Boarding for Breast Cancer, a non-profit, youth-focused educational charity organization.

Jimeale will continue transforming her endless flows of ideas and energy into innovative, design-conscious products that will give anyone the 'I'm-ready-for-life-on-a-moment's-notice' confidence.

Review: I received the Train Make-Up Case in Orchard ($29.95) and the Purse Pack in Rivington ($19.95). The Train Make-Up Case is a bit small for someone like me who has a lot of make-up, but it is good for my essentials such as mascara, lip gloss, and mineral foundation when I'm out and about. I use the Purse Pack as a coin purse. I'm usually not a blue fan, but the Train Make-Up Case and Purse Pack are both pretty. The quality of the fabric is really nice as well. I'd suggest these particular items for someone who doesn't have a lot of make-up. The Ultimate Traveler ($89.95) would probably be ideal for someone like me.

Review: Organic Softlips

Whether you want to crack down on dry winter lips or add some sparkle to your summertime smile, Softlips® has the products for you. They go on silky smooth—never sticky like some other brands. Plus, every Softlips® stick features SPF sunscreen protection to shield your smile from the sun’s harmful rays. So whether you’re looking to add a whisper of color or a burst of fruity flavor, there are more reasons than ever to love Softlips®.

Review: I received the Honeydew and Pomegranate. Both smell really good. However, I prefer the Honeydew since it has more of a scent and "flavor" to it. I've always been of the Softlips brand, but I'm more impressed with the brand since they decided to go organic. Their packaging is even recyclable. I know that their organic line is fairly new, but I'm hoping they will add more flavors to the line. Their lip balms definitely live up to their name. No need to spend a fortune to have soft and kissable lips!

Review: I never really had a good experience with hair supplements before, but when I thought I'd give this product a try when contacted for the opportunity. I thought I'd give you my report after I ran out of my month's supply! After all, products like these don't always work within a week or two. I'm happy to report that I did see a difference in my hair - hair growth. I did not see a difference in my nails or skin despite the testimonials that were posted on the site. If there was a difference in my skin, I'd say that this product caused me to break out, but I'm hoping this is a coincidence, especially since I haven't experienced any breakouts after I went through my supply.
