Review: I received the Mandarin Kiss Lip Elixir ($5.95)
and Cupcake Soap ($9.50) from Irie Star.

The lip elixir is a shiny, highly moisturizing lip gloss that will keep your pucker soft (and kissable!). It is blended with Chamomile, Mandarin, and more with HelioCarrot CO2 extract. Rich in beta-carotene and naturally occurring anti-inflammatory ingredients. It has an exotic smell and will give your lips a beautiful light amber tint. You can also snag this lip elixir in other exotic flavors: Ginger-Nilly and Rosy Glow.

Ingredients: Infusion of Organic Comfrey, Organic Calendula, and Organic Coriander in a base of Organic Sunflower and Organic Coconut oils, Organic Soy Lecithin, Organic Jojoba Oil, Organic Shea Butter, Organic Hemp Seed Oil, Essential Oil blend, Alkanet root, CO2 extracts, Tocopherol (Vitamin E) and Rosemary Extract

I received the Cupcake Soap in Pink Grapefruit. This particular soap is pale pink and topped with crushed jasmine blossoms and 3 pink rosebuds. This soap is also available in Peppermint and Lavender.

I honestly couldn't bear the thought of using this yet. This is the kind of soap that you would want sitting pretty in your bathroom. This soap is beautiful enough to use as a wedding favor or buy for your mother. Mother's Day isn't that far away!

By the way, they will donate 30% (until February 28th) to the Breast Cancer Network of Support if you buy their Cupcake Soap.

Review: Duchess Marden

About Duchess Marden: Transform your skin with the invigorating, curative power of rose, expertly blended with the anti-aging qualities of pure, plant-based elements. Stunningly effective, deeply nourishing and free of parabens, petrochemicals and chemical preservatives, Duchess Marden is your natural elixir for ageless beauty.

Review: We received the Damascena Neck & Décolleté Serum ($64) and Damascena Anti-Wrinkle Serum ($58) along with a boatload of samples for us to pass to friends and family for them to get a feel of the Duchess Marden brand.

I tried out the Damascena Anti-Wrinkle Serum for myself, while my mom tried out the Damascena Neck & Décolleté Serum. I was surprised that the Damascena Anti-Wrinkle Serum wasn't a serum at all. It is oil based. I normally get a little apprehensive when I apply any oil based products on my face. Luckily, I have sampled various oil based products that hasn't caused any problems lately. I also get a bit apprehensive about the glass bottles that these kind of products come in since I'm a total klutz. Luckily, no problems there either (probably speaking too soon)! This oil based serum sinks into the skin quickly and gives my face a luxurious feeling. The smell is refreshing as a field of flowers. It isn't overpowering at all! I honestly don't have any wrinkles. Therefore, I can't report on how effective it is in that area, but I love how smooth it makes my face feel. The gorgeous packaging is pure eye candy. This is what lured me into the brand!

This particular serum is good in many ways:

- Hydrates dry, delicate eye tissue and facial skin, with no oily residue.
- Diminishes fine lines and wrinkles
- Reduces puffiness
- Fades discoloration
- Enhances and fortifies cell growth
- Acts as a free-radical scavenger, reducing appearance of aging
- Increases moisture retention

It is also loaded with ingredients that will make you feel (and look) good:

- Jojoba oil
- Vitamin E
- Vitamin C
- Flax seed oil
- Vitamin A
- Rose Hip Seed Oil
- Hazelnut oil
- Borage oil
- Shea butter

I will keep you updated on my mom's take on the Damascena Neck & Décolleté Serum.

Review: Marina Cosmetics

Meet Kristen: Kristen was not surprised in the least by the restorative powers of the sea. She knew that the remarkable hydrating, anti-aging benefits so compelling in skincare could be incorporated into color cosmetics. Many years were dedicated to research and development, meetings with top industry chemists, and extensive testing of Marina products. Dedicated to developing a natural cosmetic, and her desire to bring natural, anti-aging beauty benefits to women everywhere, she set her sights on both treatment and color, and Marina Cosmetics was born.

Review:
I received the Lip Gloss ($22) in Sun Kissed and the Lipstick ($20) in Glacier Beige. Even though I like the lipstick, the lip gloss won me over. It has the perfect amount of shimmer along with high pigmentation. It reminded me of another eco friendly lip gloss I reviewed last time. I like this one much better! This one has strong staying power and adequate shine. The gloss and lipstick stay on very well through drinking and eating. I've never tried out a lip gloss good as this one!

The lipstick and lip gloss goes on smoothly and will hydrate your lips without any stickiness. It might be a little pricey, but it is well worth it for what it does! There is not one iota of a harsh ingredient in their products. All of their products are enriched with nutrient rich sea minerals, Ecocert, and Certified Organic ingredients.

Review: Sea Chi Creme

About Sea Chi Organics:
Sea Chi Organics manufactures high quality Organic and Wild crafted skin and hair care products. They are widely used by practitioners in the Holistic Healing Arts and ideal for individuals who are Consciously choosing to live a Healthy Organic Lifestyle.

Sea Chi Organics are free of toxic chemical preservatives and synthetic fragrances. They use only the finest spirit-infused raw materials that Mother Earth has to offer.

Review: I received several products from Sea Chi Organics to review, but I thought I'd review their Sea Chi Creme ($59) tonight. I'll be posting more reviews on their products in the next few weeks.

This creme is very creamy and goes on smooth. The cream sinks right in and will last throughout the day without a hint of greasiness. Some say that it has an herbal smell, but I think it has a very subtle citrus scent. As a lover of just about anything citrus, I'm not complaining! Most importantly it doesn't break me out. I'm usually a skeptic when it comes to trying out moisturizers, especially when I'm not that familiar with the brand. My skin will breakout from nearly everything that isn't oil free - organic or not. My skin behaves when it wants to!

This cream is not only moisturizing, but it is good for a plethora of skin ailments: brown spots, burns, blemishes, psoriasis, eczema, bruises, stretch marks and wrinkles.

Sea Chi Creme contains Kombucha Tea and wild crafted & organic essentials oils to promote healing and new cell growth. It can also be used as a daily moisturizer as it nourishes and restores dry, dehydrated skin, leaving it feeling firmer and soft. This creme is perfect for day or night!

Looking for a size fit for a queen? Try out their Sea Chi Creme in Queen Size ($167). Still a little unsure? Try out the sample ($6.50).

Review:
I had the opportunity to try out the 2 Minute Miracle Exfoliating Gel ($29.95). They claim that this gel gently exfoliates dead skin cells, removing dulling debris and excess oils. I was a bit skeptical about this two minute wonder, but I was willing to give it a try. I honestly didn't think a non-granular exfoliating gel would actually work! I tried out something similar in the past and wondered if the "skin debris" was actually the dried up gel.

I put the Ice Elements product through a small test by using a facial scrub first and then using their product. I honestly didn't see any debris afterwards. I tried it a few days later without using a facial scrub. I was surprised to see how much gunk that this product removed! It also makes my face feel very smooth and healthy looking. This proved to me that these kind of products do work. I can see why this is Ice Elements #1 item! I highly recommend this product, especially if you have sensitive skin like I do. My face can't tolerate that much exfoliation without getting irritated and causing a breakout. Therefore, a product like this is perfect for me!

Review: Clean George

Though it's a world away from the field of naturopathic chemistry and herbology, after a two-year run starring on Broadway in the musical "Hairspray," Tracy retired her wig and returned to Los Angeles for a "sunnier" life in California with her husband "to be".

The vision for Clean George came about as they watched a child's hands get slathered with the "P" word (an alcohol based hand sanitizer) and they thought there must be a safer and gentler way to clean hands in a pinch.

Tracy made the first batches of Clean George in her kitchen on a $29 blender. To insure stability, she sought out leading naturopathic chemists to collaborate in the creation of an entirely natural, human beneficial and Earth neutral hand cleaner that uses some of the most potent plant extracts on the planet.

Clean George has total commitment to "Green Consciousness", utilizing responsible farming, reusable and recyclable products and donating profits back to Mother Earth and those who look after her. Tracy even runs her car on waste vegetable oil from her favorite Thai restaurant!

I'm very impressed with the Clean George line and I thought all hand sanitizers were the same. NOT! I received all three of their scents - Lovin' Lavender, Grapefruit n' Sage and Mint-alyptus ($11.99 each). Even though I am pleased with them all, I favor the Mint-alyptus since I'm a Eucalyptus girl. All of the scents are strong. One squirt is good enough - very cost effective! Their hand sanitizers are free of alcohol and harsh chemicals. Their hand sanitizers will not dry out your hands or give them an icky sticky feeling like most sanitizers do.

Review: The Sugared Lemon and Neroli Blossom Whipped Sugar Scrub ($28) is beautifully whipped and well blended with exotic oils and butters - tangy fruits and sensuous flowers. This body scrub left my skin well polished (without a hint of greasiness), moisturized and exfoliated. I have very sensitive skin and it didn't irritate my skin at all. I honestly didn't detect a floral scent. However, it has a strong, uplifting lemon scent that I love! This exfoliation fan approves.

This body scrub is also available in Wild Lime & Ylang Ylang and Pink Grapefruit.

Aminogenesis: Tips to be Stress Free and Wallet Friendly

Have you ever looked in the mirror and noticed worry lines that were not on your face yesterday? As the economy takes a toll on our wallets, it’s easy to feel anxious and stressed about the state of our finances. It’s likely the current state of our economy is causing signs of pre-mature aging in the forms of unwanted fine lines and wrinkles.

According to a 2005 study conducted at the University of California, San Francisco, cells age much faster than they normally would if they were not under high amounts of stress. Far too many of us are speeding up our aging clocks by sweating over the current recession. However, there is good news for all who are experiencing signs of pre-mature aging in these sticky times. According to Ron Cummings, founder of AminoGenisis Skin care, there are several preventative and corrective stress measures people can take that won’t put a hole in their wallets.

Don’t Let Your Finances Affect Your Face!

Stress Tip #1: Catch some Z’s!

Don’t let sleep land at the bottom of your to-do list in times of stress. All three stages of sleep dissolve free radicals, which are notorious for their contribution to early aging. More specifically, the second stage of sleep is when hormone levels peak and cell repair takes place. Any damage to your skin that could be contributing to pre-mature aging is repaired during this stage. Try to get about 7 to 8 hours of sleep each night.

Stress Tip #2: You are what you eat.

If you are well nourished, your body’s cells and skin may appear healthier. Neglecting balanced nutrition, deficiencies in vitamin A-B complexes and essential fatty acids hinder the skin’s natural ability to heal and renew itself, causing the skin to age considerably faster. Steer clear of sugar, caffeine, white flour, artificial sweeteners, and processed foods, because they provide cells with improper nutrients. Instead, load up on raw nuts, fruits, vegetables, brown rice, beans, lentils, organic cottage cheese, yogurt, and plenty of water! Healthy skin is also optimized to receive full benefits from anti-aging creams and treatments.

Stress Tip #3: Cut the habit.

When people are stressed, they often reach for cigarettes or alcohol to release their anxieties. However, smoking uses up vitamin C in the body, which is usually used to preserve collagen in the skin, the substance that keeps skin plump and youthful. Smoking breaks down the collagen, causing pre-mature wrinkles around the eyes and mouth. Heavy drinking enlarges the blood vessels and capillaries in the skin, which can lead to a loss of healthy glow in the face.

Stress Tip #4: Don’t compromise your beauty routine

After a long, stressful day, it is likely that removing make-up and thoroughly cleansing the face seems to have little importance. However, not doing so not only leads to mascara stained sheets, but also to clogged pores and accelerated signs of aging. According to Ron, “at the very least wash your face every night to remove imbedded dirt, make-up, and other impurities accumulated throughout the day.”

Stress Tip #5: Be pro-active.

Daily use of an anti-aging day cream containing SPF can help reduce signs of fine lines, wrinkles, and sun-damage, as well as prevent future damage. A great option is AminoGenisis’ newest product, “Wrinkle Arrest ($59),” which is an anti-aging day cream with SPF 18 and broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection. Wrinkle Arrest has also been recognized by the American Academy of Dermatology with a seal of recognition for its sun-protection benefit.

Review: Sweet Beauty

About Sweet Beauty:

It's the sweetest indulgence you could wish for — chocolate's natural aroma lifting your mood, exciting your senses, and nourishing your soul. Sweet Beauty products offer delectable blends of antioxidant rich organic Fair Trade chocolate from Seattle's Theo Chocolate, expertly mixed with natural, super-food oils and butters. Their natural skin and body care recipes are enriched with the mouth-watering fine chocolate, which is rich in natural skin softening glycerides that have a reputation for moisturizing the skin. From organic chocolate body cream to organic lip balms, their spa treatments turn your daily skincare ritual into an exotic treat.

Review: I quickly fell in love with this line a few months back when I had the sweet opportunity to try out their Nourish Triple Chocolate Sugar Scrub ($19). I'm not even that fond of chocolate!

This time I had the chance to try out their Berry Pretty Masque ($30 - $50) and the Tangerine Truffle White Chocolate Sugar Scrub ($22).

This scrub has a tangy blend of Tangerine Butter, Honey and Organic Cocoa Butter. It didn't polish my skin well as the Nourish Triple Chocolate Sugar Scrub, but this can be easily ignored as long it is doing it's job. In fact, I like it much better than the chocolate scrub. The tangerine scent is strong and uplifting. I honestly didn't detect a hint of chocolate, but I'm certainly not complaining! It smells so good that it is almost edible. Almost.

Looking for a sweet way to prevent wrinkles no matter what your skin type is? This berry-licious masque is blended with Organic Açai Berry, Blueberry and Pomegranate Oils and Organic Fair Trade-Certified Chocolate.

This is my first time ever trying out a chocolate masque. I guess that is a little peculiar since I run a beauty blog. So the Berry Pretty Masque was unique to me. I love how soft and smooth it makes my face feel.

It has the consistency of chocolate syrup. I honestly didn't care for the smell, but then again... as long it works...and it did. I found it a little odd that this masque doesn't dry, but this makes it much easier when it is time to rinse it off.

Review: Elemis Exotic Frangipani Monoi Moisture Melt

The Elemis Exotic Frangipani Monoi Moisture Melt is ($48) blended with ingredients that will tantalize your senses - coconut coprah oil and frangipani flowers. This treatment oil can be used anywhere on your body, including your nails or hair! While some might prefer this as a body oil, I prefer to use this in my hair. It works just as good as the Sundari Neem and Coconut Hair Treatment Oil that I use in my hair weekly. It makes my hair very shiny and well moisturized. Plus, it makes my hair smell fantastic. This body might be in small in size, but a little amount goes a long way!

Note:
This product solidifies at cooler temperatures. All you have to do is you have to place the bottle under warm water for it to turn into liquid.

I received everything that was suitable for my hair according to the personalized survey on their site. This includes the 60/40 Shampoo ($23), 10/90 Conditioner ($25), 10/90 Antioxidant Mask ($32), Shine Cream ($30) and Shine Serum ($30).

The Shine Cream can be used on wet or dry hair, but I prefer to use it when my hair is wet. It seems to give my hair a matte finish if I use it when my hair is dry. All it takes is a nickel size amount to give my hair a well moisturizing "treatment" and glossy shine.

I love the Shine Cream, but I'm in love with the Shine Serum. Even though it doesn't moisturize my hair like the Shine Cream, it gives my hair the perfect amount of shine without weighing my hair down or being too greasy. Plus, it works beautifully before flat ironing my hair!

The 60/40 Shampoo and 10/90 Conditioner are both fantastic! The shampoo doesn't make my hair feel like hay like a lot of shampoos do. On that note, it seems like the different shampoos I've been trying out the past few weeks aren't anything like shampoos I've used before.

Back to the story, their shampoo makes my hair feel very clean while hydrating it. The conditioner does the same. Both smell wonderful! A few days later, I alternated the conditioner with the 10/90 Antioxidant Mask. This is a great way to deeply condition your hair and boost up the shine. They recommend that you use this once a week. It is the best hair mask I've ever tried!

Review: Maxim's de Paris Candles

The Maxim's de Paris restaurant is rich in history and celebration. Champagne flowing, music playing, culinary delights abundant - a high society atmosphere of pleasure!

The Maxim’s Sem luxury scented candle collection is a charming modern version of the legendary caricature artist’s playful interpretation of the Maxim’s de Paris’ restaurant happenings.

George Goursat, also known as Sem, frequented the flourishing Maxim’s restaurant in Paris during the turn of the century, where he sat for hours drawing the goings on of well-known society, celebrity and trendy patrons.

Each porcelain candle container is appointed with wonderfully imaginative and playful portrayals of Paris from the artist's collection.

Recreate the decadent ambience of this era past.

Review: I love candles! What beauty loving girl doesn't love candles? I received the Fruit Glace Candle ($36). It has a delectable melange of sweet and tart fruity essences of pomegranate, mouth-watering cantaloupe, and plum - laced with a watery floral accord. I didn't detect any hints of the floral notes much as I was hoping since I love floral scents. However, I also love fruity scents and this candle is bound to tantalize your senses. It is long lasting and burns clean. Not only this candle line is pleasing to the senses, but these candles are fun to have around with their whimisical and parisian appeal. It would be nice to collect all from this line since each scent has a different design. These candles would make great gifts and will add a touch of class to any home!

Available Scents: Bergamot Eclat, Figuier Blossoms, Violette & Lavande and Jardin Fruitier.

Review: Lavilin

A deodorant that lasts for seven days without having the need to re-apply? This was probably one of the extravagant lies that I have ever heard. So I thought. However, I was curious about Lavilin ($15) and jumped at the opportunity to try out this product. I'm trying to break away from the traditional deodorants since they have been suspected of causing breast cancer. Worrying about that would probably be enough to make anyone sweat.

Of course, I was very leery and was tempted to apply something else over the Lavilin to not risk embarrassment. I never did and was surprised that this company lived up to their claims. It didn't last for a week for me, but it did last for 5 days - much longer than most deodorants out there whether they are natural or not. During those 5 days, I never did detect the slightest hint of odor even after a shower.

Lavilin is made up of natural ingredients including chamomile, arnica and calendula oils. Even though it comes in a small container, it can probably last for several months. The only "bad" thing I can say about this product is that it could be a little cheaper since $15 is a bit much for a deodorant. It will also be nice for them to come out with a more clear deodorant to make it less obvious.

I also received the Foot Deodorant ($16). Since I haven't worn sneakers for years, I haven't really had any problems with my feet. Therefore, I passed this to my boyfriend. I asked him what did he think about it and all he had to say that it was okay. We all know what that means, he really liked it, but he wasn't going to admit it.

Are you curious about these particular products, but don't want to shell out too much money yet? They also have a trial size of each product for $1.
