Review: Sponge Skincare

Detail + care are the core values of Sponge Skincare. Originally formulated by a doctor for the care of his pregnant patients without the intent to sell, more than 30 years of research has enabled sponge to pinpoint nature’s most powerful plants thru a chemical-free extraction process. Sponge products are hand-blended, and each cream has a base of first pressed extra-virgin olive oil to promote firming, anti-oxidant and overall health benefits to the skin.

Sponge uses only the finest organic and wild-crafted ingredients which are naturally extracted by boiling the plants, herbs and flowers to particular temperatures and times based upon the maturity and the region in Greece it was grown to retain the highest amount of nutrients and vitamins. It is a slow process but it is also very pure to help ensure that your skin will ultimately benefit.

The highest sustainable growing standards are upheld where their plants, herbs and flowers are nurtured and harvested. They have also developed a method of testing products for safety and efficacy that is cruelty-free, which has been accepted by the Dermatological Society of Europe.

I can't get enough of any type of body lotion. The Galaktoma Somatos Body Milk ($65) is no exception. It moisturizes very well despite the very thin, lightweight texture. Peppermint cools and refreshes, St. John's wort smoothes, virgin olive oil increases radiance and olive leaf neutralizes free radicals with antioxidants. It smells absolutely fantastic! This sumptuous body milk keeps my skin feeling well pampered and moisturized throughout the day without having the need to re-apply. It absorbs rather quickly (within 5 minutes) and doesn't leave a tinge of greasiness or stickiness behind. For extra pampering, you can mix it with 2-3 drops of Ladi Avokanto Avocado Oil ($100) and apply it to moist skin following a bath or shower.

The price might be a bit steep for some, but it is a highly recommended product, especially if you're looking for something that contains the healthiest ingredients for your skin!

I've never tried anything quite satisfying as the Ladi Avokanto Avocado Oil ($100) as far as skin care goes. I don't think I have had this avocado oil for even 2 months, and I'm almost ashamed to say that I'm about out. It is that addictive! I honestly didn't expect the avocado oil to smell so good, but this one has a highly fragrant scent. This avocado oil contains the highest quality of avocado oil mixed with olive leaf and vitamins D and E. These ingredients work together to restore, firm and condition skin while neutralizing free radicals with potent antioxidants.

I don't use this on my face since I have sensitive skin. I'm afraid that this would cause me to breakout even though they recommend this product for all skin types. Therefore, I have also been using this product as a body moisturizer. It is even safe enough to use in your hair. Once in awhile I will apply it on my ends to nourish dry ends, and it works!
