While other nail companies are just now following the trends that Jessica herself has set, Jessica Cosmetics developed its eco-friendly line in 2004. All of the polishes are free of Toluene, Formaldehyde and Dibutyl Phthalate.

Facts About Non Eco-Friendly Nail Products:
- Formaldehyde is classified as a possible carcinogen by the EPA and can cause itching and burning of the skin. It's already been banned for use in cosmetics in Japan and Sweden
- Regular use of nail polish containing Toluene can create brittle, chipped nail surfaces
- Dibutyl Phthalate is a potential developmental and reproductive toxin that may cause a broad range of birth defects.

Oooh, great information here! I'm on a nail polish kick right now and can't wait to check these out!
